My gelding was well within the measurement for the size I chose, but I still found it very challenging to get the boots on! Atfirst, I want able to fatten the pattern straps very well, but I left them on for a couple of hours and came back to check - he had smashed his foot well down into the boot and I was able to adjust the straps to where they look perfectly normal. He really seems to like them! Walks out soundly across our gravely, rocky, hard ground!
Our aging mare has been suffering with hurting front hooves after her last farrier visit. We ordered these boots and some extra pads from advice from our horse veterinarian and within minutes she was walking with a normal gait and back to happy self.
I purchased these boots as an upgrade to "easyboot rx" ( another easycare product that i bought from the manufacturer) that my mare, suffering with laminitis was currently wearing. The "easyboot cloud" is made of fabric that caused my mare to get a blister on one of her heels. The "easybout cloud" has inserts that did not mould to my mare feet, but were so hard, with her thin souls, caused her to become more lame. I reverted back to the original boot and made my own inserts'. I will still use the boot, with my homemade inserts, when I have to clean and dry the original boot but I can never leave then on her, even with the home made inserts, more than a day. I STRONGLY recommend that Chewy stop carrying this product.
My mare is in her 20’s, she worked hard and now has some issues w lameness. I use Clouds when she’s pastured. When she comes in I wash & they’re ready for the next day.
I could not love this boot any more than I do! I am currently treating my horse for canker in a rear hoof. I bought a different style boot previously, but it tore the first night. Though a little pricey, I decided to try this boot based on reviews and description of the product. I still treat and wrap the hoof as previously, but I no longer need to wrap with duct tape as well. His foot stays clean, dry, and the boot is very well-made. He wears it 24-7 both in his stall and for light turn out. I highly recommend!
I purchased these boots in May for a 26 year old, 700 lb horse who foundered a couple years ago. She is kept in a dry lot by herself, but able to socialize with other horses in adjoining field. The boots have really helped her comfort level, but I have had to replace the pads 3x already & the exterior fabric is not holding up. And, I have had to reinforce the Velcro fasteners with duct tape. I ordered another pair, but would like to find a brand or model that lasts longer.
Recommended by my vet to help with a laminitis treatment. They have made a huge difference in delivering support to my mare. Very sturdy and would 100% recommend.
I got these for my laminitic horse and they have made all the difference! I started with a pair of Soft Ride boots, which both vet and farrier highly recommended. But, after one trim those ended up too large. These looked easier to manage and I liked the flat pads that come with them (Soft Ride have a frog support that actually ended up compressing my boy's frogs). These boots are SO much easier to put on! One caution - they seemed almost too snug at first, with it being hard to get the straps fully above the coronet - but just a couple of hours of him walking in them and they loosened enough that they now easily fit on. Keep an eye on the wear in the pads and be prepared to replace them if they compress too much. I'm three weeks in and just replacing them for mine who is wearing these 24/7. Boots are dirty but still in great shape!
These boots were a life saver. Make sure you get the correct size. Once they fit properly horses move well.
These boots are AMAZING. Our senior QH has very thin soles, and after discussing different shoeing options, we decided to try the Cloud Boots. It was the best decision we could've made. He wears these out in the pasture and in the dry lot, and he runs around like a youngster; there's no limping or painful walking when he's wearing these boots. Additionally, we purchased the snow studs, and these boots eliminate dangerous hoof "snowballs." Would absolutely recommend!
