Eufy E30 Indoor Pan/Tilt Dog & Cat Camera

We hire a pet sitter when we're gone, even just for a day, and we want him to love spending time at our house and for the job to be super easy. This means we've automated everything possible: food, water, and (coming soon) litterbox duty are handled by machines--leaving our pet sitter with the sole job of loving on and spending time with our creatures. But what if these devices fail and nobody knows? That happened with the food once (fortunately my spouse was home and noticed right away). With this camera, we can see and hear whether these devices are doing their jobs when both of us are gone, and then our sitter can take care of whatever needs to be done. And this thing is great! The camera, even on its lowest-resolution setting, is crystal clear. Literally, you can see tiny specs of dust when the cats kick up litter; you can hear them munching their food; you can even speak to them through the in-camera microphone if you want to. There's color video, day and night. You can pre-set where you want the camera pointed--a default position, plus as many other settings as you want; you can let it cycle through settings/positions, or keep it stationary; you can pan around the room from your phone screen. You can zoom in up to 8x and really see whether there are any problems. The app is easy to use. If you want, you can also set privacy mode: hours when the cam is off. You can decide whether or not to have notifications when a person or animal enters the room. You can pay a fee and have the vid stored in the cloud, or use an SD card and store it yourself, or simply watch whenever you want, without storing any video (which is what we do--we just want to watch at one mealtime and make sure food is dispensing, and we don't neeed memberships or storage for that). If you have multiple cameras, you can monitor all of them from the app. Some ppl mentioned that the AI can be set to respond solely to people, or pets; and that it will reconize individual animals. We aren't using the AI/paid membership, so I can't speak to that. If I were designing this, the one thing I'd change is for it to be rechargeable. Right now, it has to be plugged in. This limits where it can be placed, which in our case is the laundry room in an old house with just one outlet there. Also, this camera is for indoor use only. That's fine for us, but some people may prefer an indoor-outdoor camera. Tl/dr: If you want to monitor your pets, their safety, and/or the devices that serve them, buy this now. For the money, I don't see how you can beat it.
