"Not intended for human consumption". Boy, all kinds of red flags on this product. I was just excited to see a canned cat food in a 22 ounce can. I should not have purchased this. My cats are not picky. I've never had a picky cat. I tend to make fun of my friends who claim to have picky cats. The way I see it, if they get hungry, they'll eat. But they will not eat this. I'm currently mixing it in about a 5 to 1 ratio for my kitties to see if I can just get rid of the stuff, but I'm not able to get through a whole can without it turning disgusting doing this. This product is definitely not for cats. They'll eat anything I put in their dish. Just not this. I probably wouldn't have even left this review if not for the information on the label. I would not have purchased it had I seen the fact that this isn't suitable for a regular cat food and that it isn't fit for human consumption. No, I don't intend to eat my cat food, but I do expect some sort of baseline quality in the food I buy for them.
I ordered this food when my senior kitty was having really bad diarrhea. I wanted to give him a more bland diet temporarily, hoping it would help. He pretty much would eat anything, so he was ok with this being mixed with his food. He liked it fine. Unfortunately, it turned out the diarrhea was caused by a growth in his intestines and he did not make it. I have 10 cans left after he passed, so I figured I would just add it to the food of my 14 other cats. I have never given them a food that they all UNANNOMOUSLY said NO to. Not ONE of the remaining 14 cats would eat this food. I don't know how that is possible, it's supposedly just chicken. When I tried mixing it with their regular food they wouldn't touch their food. Not sure how you mess up plain chicken, but 14 cats said "NOPE!"
Cats and dog love this. Not every day but often. Great brand
GREAT INTEREST FROM MY DOGS AS I OPENED THE CAN. WHEN I PUT THE BOWLS DOWN, I HAD TO GET OUT OF THE WAY. IN 1 MINUTE IT WAS ALL GONE. TO SAY THAT THEY LIKED IT WAS AN UNDER STATEMENT.
We have been feeding our dogs Evanger's dog food (both dry and wet) for the last 10 years. We never had problems with finicky eaters. Their veterinarians always commented on how healthy and strong the boys are/were.
My dog would not eat this. I thought it would be healthy for him but nope, he wouldnt touch it. My cat actually liked it more than my dog!
I fed 6 cats this food, three of them vomited, others refused to eat it. I am hoping this will blow over, but the rest of the case is going in the garbage.
Someone wrote a review once & wished peas wouldn’t be in dog food for some health reason. This food doesn’t list any peas & my picky dog ate it right up & didn’t have any bad reactions from trying a new food. SCORE!
Fantastic all around, I will always have a case or 2 give my cats a bit of change from their "regulation"" food. They all 4 loved it! Putting 3 cases om auto ship right now.
Vinny has a diet of dried and wet food. He's in good condition, with a bright coat and excellent teeth. We think Evanger's, the wet food, helps with that.
