    Escapees with smaller crickets

    By on

I was pretty excited to have this new pen just as my new shipment of half inch crickets came in. They really did go right into the tubes! Seemed all good. Then I checked on them later and... Disappointment. I had to chase a few escape artists around my daughter's room. What is the point of all the great extra features if it does not fulfill it's prime function of keeping the crickets in? I had to run to Lowe's and buy a bin, modify the lid, and hot glue on some aluminum mesh to keep these bugs out of my daughter's room. What a waste. I did use the food and water dishes in the new bin though!!

Put the Food and Water Dishes in BEFORE the Crickets!!

    By on

Made the silly mistake of putting the crickets in before the food and water dishes... very difficult to get them in with the little guys running around, and accidentally squished one, haha. The little flaps dont always close after pulling the tubes, so just be aware that escape may occur. Dont assume they have closed. Very easy to dispense crickets in to feed my frogs, though!

Everything came in good except the pen has a crack at the top. Food and tubes are ok.

    It's so easy!

    By on

So I had a 10 gallon tank for the crickets and dubia roaches. Some of the crickets would jump out. When I was taking them out to feed my lizard. Now it's just so easy. Take the tube out and slid them into a baggy with the calcium in it. Boom Done, love this thing. And it's big enough for me. I only use 2 of the 4 sticks it comes with. Because after I put the tube back in more crawl in.

    Wonderful cricket keeper!

    By on

So far I've had wonderful experiences with my cricket keepers. I own two large ones and one small one. I've had no escapes. The only thing is is I use only two of the black rods in the keeper than all four of them that come with the large size, otherwise it gets a little cramped. I also threw out the sponge that comes for their water source and use a gel in the dish instead. How many it holds depends on the size of the cricket (it says on the paper that comes with it). Overall, love Exo Terra's Cricket Pens! Wonderful quality!

    Great Product

    By on

This is a great little system for dispensing feeder crickets. The tubes work great for both dispensing the crickets in the cage and putting them in a container for dusting. I clean it about every 3 days to replace the food and clean the sponge. I buy 50 medium crickets at a time.

    Great product

    By on

The black plastic top is a bit flimsy and thin when compared to other brands but it does seem sturdy enough to last a few good years. The rest of keeper is absolutely perfect.

    Works great!

    By on

The unit works well for extending the life of our crickets each week (washing with only water). The dark tubes slide out easily making feeding time with our Leopard Gecko simple and efficient. Definitely a good buy!
