Instructions

Combine Large and Small sizes for more realistic variations in climbing surfaces, replicating tropical vines at different stages of growth. Twist together vines of different sizes for a stunning 3-D habitat. Perfect for herptile habitats with snakes, geckos, iguanas, chameleons, tree frogs, or other climbing reptiles and amphibians.

Reptiles are susceptible to skin and bacterial infections if cages and housing are not kept scrupulously clean. Their fecal matter carries bacteria, such as Salmonella, that can also contaminate humans. Terrariums, furnishings, and the cleaning equipment itself need to be regularly cleaned as well as periodically disinfected and sterilized.

Remove the contents from your terrarium. The best products for cleaning your herp's habitat are those specifically designed to be herp-safe. Otherwise, use plain soap and water or mild dishwashing detergent carefully diluted. Be sure to rinse all surfaces with hot water until all suds are gone, and do not use any products that contain phenol or pine scent. After washing, you must also disinfect and sterilize all surfaces with chlorine or ammonia. However, both chlorine and ammonia are highly toxic to your herp, so exercise absolute care to remove all residues before replacing your pet in its newly cleaned home. Be sure to thoroughly clean all equipment, sponges, buckets, and sinks to prevent cross-contamination. To minimize the danger of Salmonella infection, wear gloves and protective eyewear as you clean your reptile's enclosure.

    great for adding dimension

By ktmkjones on Mar 14, 2021

We added these to our iguanas terrarium and they are definitely a favorite. He is constantly on them and ignoring the other decor now. We will be buying more as he gets bigger I do prefer these to be braided together.

    Very Disappointed

By Mars on Feb 10, 2021

It looks nothing like the pictures advertised and has such a rough and uncomfortable texture that I would not want my reptile touching, in addition to that it doesn't seem very well made.

    Crested gecko!

By BugZ on Oct 9, 2020

My crested loves this! It's perfect sized and looks real! I folded it in half and twisted it together for a thicker hold! My only issue I it's hard to clean! He has pooped and peed on it and I can't get it off without running off the texture so I just rinse it off and hope for the best.

    Must-have for your reptile

By DoggoMama on Jun 18, 2020

Okay, I’m a sucker for spoiling my pets... and Chewy has so many cool products that it’s hard to resist purchasing a bunch of different things. I bought this and my crested gecko Yoshi loves this! I frequently see him climbing all over it. I have no problems with residue falling off of it inside of his house, but it sheds ever so slightly when I wash it to take any pee marks off. It’s not a big problem at all, and I would definitely recommend this to decorate your reptile’s tank.

    Not worth the money

    By Macintire96 on Mar 13, 2020

It was bent and the wire was out at every bend. When I tried to shape it it snapped.

By Heidi on Mar 7, 2020

Easy to use and twist together. Our Gecko hasn't actually used them but they look cool.

    Nice quality

By raebrams on Jan 25, 2020

It's hard to get to stand up well, but it's a good quality and holds up over time (as long as you don't try moving it around often).

    Works very well!

By Shaymin on Dec 11, 2019

I like the rough texture to these vines, which can help a reptile shed. There are a few kinks where it was in the packaging but they fold out alright.

Ok, but not color I wanted.

    By Diana8607 on Sep 19, 2019

I actually did not care for this vine as it is black and just does not go with my enclosure. Nothing wrong with it just not to my liking. I will probably donate.

    Thin and flaky?

By Celine on Jun 20, 2019

I couldn't figure out how thick it was before buying but figured I could twist it aroubd itself, which I ended up doing, as small is about a centimeter or so thick-- I was fine with that though, since I have a baby gecko. The problem lies in how flaky the vine is. Its rough texture breaks off tiny pieces that are similar to panko breadcrumbs in texture and the stuff was everywhere. I ended taking it out of the tank and rub as much off as I could. It works well but that initial set up as messier than expected.
