Can you sit it on top of the terrarium?

The mini combo deep dome can just be set on the screen top of the terrarium. They can also use it on a lamp stand over the terrarium as well.

The Zoo Med PowerSun UV Mercury Vapor Reptile Lamp would not be recommended for use with this fixture. The manufacturer recommends the Repti Basking Spot Lamp, Nocturnal Infrared Heat Lamp, Repti Halogen Lamp and the Turtle Tuff Splashproof Halogen Lamp for use with this fixture.

Bad Batch?

I have the double dome from Zoo Med and it has worked wonderfully for my box turtle...I purchased this single dome to use with the night/warming light and it sucks

I have the double dome from Zoo Med and it has worked wonderfully for my box turtle...I purchased this single dome to use with the night/warming light and it sucks. The threading for the bulbs is not right. I tried several different bulbs thinking it was just a fluke, but it indeed is the dome itself. Do not recommend

light bulb socket wonky

Bought the mini dome and mini uvb bulb produced by zoomed for only one reason that the mini dome is designed to fit the mini uvb bulb. The two products match together

Bought the mini dome and mini uvb bulb produced by zoomed for only one reason that the mini dome is designed to fit the mini uvb bulb. The two products match together as designed. The reason for losing a star is that the metal light bulb socket has some play within the ceramic base and insertion is a tight fit for any e26 medium base light bulb. The light bulb and socket can be angled/toggled within the dome which makes it difficult to screw in a different replacing bulb. No idea why the socket does this, maybe its not secured internally. I have some trust in zoomed products to not believe this will cause a short but that is a concern long term.

Solid light fixture

These are might preferred dome light fixtures. They fit in the circular port in Vision enclosures, and hold up to a full size halogen flood light. The ceramic socket

These are might preferred dome light fixtures. They fit in the circular port in Vision enclosures, and hold up to a full size halogen flood light. The ceramic socket and electrical testing certification make me more confident concerning fire safety (knock on wood). The metal dome can be deformed if it gets whacked, so bear that in mind.

Fine but not super deep

It was not quite long enough to cover the UV bulb for my birds. The hood itself, not including the base, is 5 inches deep. My bird bulb, not including the screw-in

It was not quite long enough to cover the UV bulb for my birds. The hood itself, not including the base, is 5 inches deep. My bird bulb, not including the screw-in part, is 7 inches long. I made it work but the description needs the measurement.
