I have purchased three of these wheels for my three Syrians. The first two were perfect - dead silent, sturdy, and my hamsters love them. The most recent one I bought... not so much. At first it was fine, but my new baby runs on it and the little twist knob on the back loosens and the wheel comes crashing down as low as it can go and is extremely noisy. I'd say the majority of these wheels are good but keep your receipt while you try it out - it could be a bad one.
Our Hedgehog is delighted with the wheel in which to play. We are delighted, because when he plays, we dont hear it going round and round.
It's so glowy, and big, and perfect! It fits almost perfectly in my tank....my tank just needs to be 3 inches taller.
we have a dwarf hamster and she absolutely loves this wheel. it is very quiet and is working very well.
One of my rats spends the majority of her time from the hours of midnight to six am in this wheel. She loves it. The majority of the noise it makes are from her paws hitting the track. Her name is Tracy (see For All Mankind), and astronaut training is going well for her. I hung mine from the top of my cage to great effect, makes cleaning the cage easier as it's one less thing to move around. Many of the reviews say that it comes apart or makes a lot of noise. That's true, until you figure out that you have to crank on the knob way harder than you'd expect. Once tightened, it stays together perfectly fine. I haven't had to retighten it in months since figuring this out. If it gets loose again, go harder, or get someone with bigger hands to tighten it for you.
This wheel is completely unsafe for sugar glides
I am so happy I got this for my new hamster Rusty, this is his first wheel (the pet store I got him from didn’t even have a wheel for him), ever since I put the wheel in his tank he’s been running for literally HOURS! He’ll stop for about 30 seconds to 5 minutes and then he’d go back to running! I’m so happy he’s finally getting some exercise and getting his energy out! He loves his wheel so much that when I woke up this morning he was sleeping BEHIND his wheel! (He normally sleeps in his hides or burrow) and I can watch him run all day!
Solid wheel, two out of four rats agree. Moved around the cage way too much though. I considered adding to the base, but ultimately, flipped it upside down and attached it to the top of the cage. This makes cleaning easier and it's far quieter! You'll need a drill bit for metal. I used four bolts with wingnuts, 1" fender washers, and rubber gaskets for a toilet bowl to dampen the noise. Only a $7 add-on if you have the bit already.
Great wheel, truly silent. However you’re going to want a mount, or you’ll hear the base scraping on the floor or the back of the wheel banging on the walls. May work if your pet had bedding and you can bury the base of the stand. With a wall mount it’s so quiet I can hear the tiny pitter patter of little rat feet! It should really be an option to chose between the stand or a mount because now the stand is just taking up space while I had to pay extra for the mount.
Really poor quality, plastic is super thin and flexes while my chinchilla tries to run on it, it also falls apart multiple times a day, the little plastic bracket that holds the running platform of the wheel comes off after he runs on it for a few minutes. Not worth the money
