When introducing a pet to a new food, we recommend a gradual change over a 10 day period. Start by feeding 90% of their old food and 10% of Fancy Feast. Each day, increase their portion of Fancy Feast by 10%, while decreasing their old food until 100% of their meal consists of their new food.
My kitten is 8 months, and since he's been with me (6 months) he's only eaten chicken and salmon that were both another brand. Someone online mentioned that Fancy Feast fish was great but they told me about the adult version. I saw this kitten formulation so decided to try it. At first he was very hesitant and smelled it for quite a while. I left the food with him and I think I saw on the pet cam that he put it on his paw and licked his paw. Finally he ate it and the next time I saw the bowl it was empty. He's eaten all of it every time since then. Glad to have some variety, especially with kitten food.
As per request, the Cat House on the Kings in Parlier,CA, can always use this Fancy Feast from r the kittens they get so decided to donate a case monthly to them. They have two hundred cats on the property in different areas, not in cages, even a special house for the FIP cats with special needs. A very dedicated person in charge with faithful volunteers, they deserve the help for the service they give to cats.
Our kittens enjoyed this food and it is reasonably priced. You could hear their tiny nom nom nom munchkin enthusiasm.
I purchased Fancy Feast whitefish and my kittens loved it but it caused them to develop diarrhea. It took me a long time to figure out why. I also ordered other Fancy Feast fish flavors and they all caused diarrhea. I tried Purina ProPlan for kittens and that too caused diarrhea. I looked into the issue and learned some cats can not eat LIVER and all of the Purina brands have liver as an ingredient. I switched my kittens to American Journey chicken pate and they had no trouble with chicken liver. I gave away all the Purina kitten food. Just hope this information helps other cat owners.
Even if the cats liked it, which they don't, I couldn't stand having plates of this in the kitchen. I'm giving it away to somebody who has a dog.
This is the driest canned cat food I've ever bought. there doesnt seem to be a drop of moisture in this, and the juicy ones are my cats favorites. They are only 6 months old and not picky, but won't eat this one.
When grocery store shelves are empty, Chewy wins!!
