Feed 1 can per 3 - 3 1/2 lbs of body weight daily. Adjust as needed to maintain your kitten in ideal body condition.
When introducing a pet to a new food, we recommend a gradual change over a 10 day period. Start by feeding 90% of their old food and 10% of Fancy Feast. Each day, increase their portion of Fancy Feast by 10%, while decreasing their old food until 100% of their meal consists of their new food.
I have a 12 year old cat that can only eat kitten food due to some health issues. Fancy Feast salmon and turkey flavors are the 2 flavors that she likes best, and don't cause her to throw up too much. While other retailers have been out or very low on stock, Chewy had plenty and they delivered them directly to my door. The price was the same and delivery time was 2 days.
I used to buy all 3 flavors for my rescues. Throughout these last 3 years they started refusing first the salmon then the chicken. I have been religiously buying the turkey for the last year I just figured they are weird and this is their favorite. I just received 3 cases yesterday. I could tell the moment I stuck my spoon in that it was different and all my kitties refused. They eat in separate areas so it wasn’t the fact they saw the others it was really weird. I know it was mentioned throughout these last 3 years supplies sometimes are hard to come buy but I would prefer transparency. Food isn’t cheap. I would pay more to receive what my cats down right demand.
I picked up a couple of cans at the grocery store to have my kitten try it before buying a case. She ate it all up no problem. The cans from this case are a completely different texture, very soupy and honestly I can understand her refusal to eat it. I waited a couple of days to try it again. Not a winner. Disappointed.
They used to eat it still but I noticed a decrease of eating and even to the point where they will rather head to the auto feeder for dry food only then I realized it might be th change of formula that made them disliked the new turkey can. Other flavors were fine
My 13 years old eats this food the best! She is in hospice now and I will give her whatever she wants/needs.
Excellent choice for feeding kittens. You will not be disappointed and your kittens will love it.
Kitten Turkey Feast was a favorite of all 12 kitties. Recent cases, every single can rejected. I pop lid and they run away. Not Chewy's fault. Appears Purina has changed ingredients or labeled cans wrong, or changed can packaging materials. Shipping was compromised and much unavailable. Now most products available but waste of money when cats refuse to eat. Same problem with Chicken Feast.
Have a new kitten and he loves breakfast and dinner time with his Fancy Feast soft food.
I frequently foster kittens and have used this in the past. However my current fosters have diarrhea and I had never noticed until now that it contains "real milk". I contacted Purina to ask if it is cow's milk and about lactose. Most cats are lactose intolerant so why add milk to food? Purina never responded so I stopped using it.
Well, I used this food with multiple kittens in the past and they all loved it. My last kitten was 11 years ago. I dunno if they changed the food, or if this new baby is just fussy, but he won't even taste it !! *sigh*
