Unless your Veterinarian has told you otherwise, when switching your pet to a Farmina diet from a different food, we suggest making the transition over 10 Days. From days 1 to 3 we recommend feeding 75% of the old food and 25% of the new food. From days 4 to 6 feed 50% old and 50% new. From days 7 to 9 feed 25% old and 75% new. Finally, on day 10 you can start exclusively feeding the new food.
This food is amazing as it is super high quality with lots of protein. I was originally feeding Acana but I now switched over to Farmina because she was having bad diarrhea to where I knew her stomach was upset. I think she needed a switch of protein and an added probiotic w/ prebiotic and now everything is back to normal again. I will always recommend this to others. It’s a little pricey but worth every penny. She gets excited for meal time again with this kibble!
Ive done hours and hours of research and this brand is the best brand I could Find for many reasons. Took my pup about 3 weeks to get solid poops, but he got there. His coat looks great and is growing much bigger than his siblings! For those who are having problems with stool, just give it more Time and hopefully you will See better results. I promise you, you wont find a better brand for your pup. Also, Im incredibly impressed with Chewys shipping
I did a lot of research in what food to get. This turned out great for my golden retriever pup. She loves it and her bowels are doing well. I haven’t noticed any digestive issues. They actually seemed to have gotten better when I switched her from this to what the breeder was giving her. Also super fast shipping!
Our breeder feed our puppy this from the beginning and we are following along. Onyx is 6 months old and thriving on N&D.
My dog has always eaten this food. We started with puppy then graduated to adult, always with lamb & blueberry. This latch batch came in and looked a lot thinner than usual, and it didn't smell like blueberries (as it normally does very strongly when you open the bag). My dog had constant diarrhea for a week which led to large red chunks in his stool, until I bought a new bag from my local store and realized it looked (and smelled) nothing like the new bag. It doesn't even look like it was Farmina food. If it was, it was a bad bag. I won't be ordering it from Chewy again.
We had Tastes of the Wild previously but this one was recommended by my expert sister:) His vet recommended Hill’s Diet which is terrible. Our pup loves this food! I love its quality! For those who say poops are smelly - were the previous ones not? lol Highly recommend
Only 2% fiber which caused digestive issues with my puppy. For a large breed formula it should be 3-4% fiber. Chewy earned the extra star for fast shipping.
I had to switch all my dogs to a different food bc they were having mucousy diarrhea and I had heard very good things about Farmina. Recently started this food, but so far all is great and my 5 month old puppy loves this food!
We've been using Farmina for our Golden Retrievers for about 2 years. It's very high quality with meat/poultry in at least the first 5 ingredients. It uses no fillers like peas or lentils and only has good ancestral type grains. Our Goldens love it, and we are using the N&D Lamb puppy for our German Shepherd puppy. Our dogs have had no issues whatsoever with Farmina. It's excellent.
Quality nutrition makes a difference. Our breeder was feeding the pack of puppies Purina puppy. It just didn't meet the needs of a growing chocolate labrador. After transitioning to this food - we found less gassy girl and more tail wags. Mocha loves it.
