One out of four loved it

    By on

I bought this hoping our guy with IBD who’s been on prescription dry food and refusing his raw single protein diet of duck would go for this lamb and then we could switch him over to lamb as the new novel protein. He did NOT like it. Neither did our other two indoor cats. But the feral cat we feed (regularly, so he can be picky too) loves it! And he won’t let us pet him but he looks like he’s feeling better and his coat looks nice from the distance he keeps.

    My cats not interested

    By on

I read some other reviews that this food was kind of smelly. It is very smelly. I thought maybe my 2 cats would still like it. I tried on a couple different occasions, but they would not eat.

    Smelly, but good quality product

    By on

I have tried this and the Ziwipeak for my cat, Bobby. For some reason both the New Zealand foods are pretty smelly and make for some pretty smelly poops. My guess is the green mussels in both, maybe? However the Feline Natural is much less offensive, on both ends. I like that there are no grains, vegetables, or other fillers— just grass fed meat (including bone!) and supplements. So for now we will deal with the smelly litter box in exchange for a more natural, healthy diet.

    Chewy saves the day

    By on

I am so thankful Chewy offers such a wide variety of food. After fighting chronic diarrhea for 2 years this is the first food my cat has eaten that has helped the problem. It’s not easy to find so I am grateful that Chewy offers it

    Smelled like raw sewage

Yes, the ingredients are great, one of the best ingredients lists I’ve seen before in a canned cat food, but even if my cats loved this I would think twice before buying more of this. I opened one can and some accidentally spilled onto my fingers. I couldn’t get the smell off my fingers even after scrubbing them with Method dish soap and a brush. I finally had to use a special enzyme cleaner to get most of the smell out. But I don’t have to worry about buying more because both my cats are completely disgusted with this food. I even tried putting a tiny bit of the juice onto a corner of their favorite freeze dried chicken treats from Life Essentials and giving it to them, they ran to the treat Yes, the ingredients are great, one of the best ingredients lists I’ve seen before in a canned cat food, but even if my cats loved this I would think twice before buying more of this. I even tried putting a tiny bit of the juice onto a corner of their favorite freeze dried chicken treats from Life Essentials and giving it to them, they ran to the treat when they saw it but turned away in disgust when they smelled it. I often crush up those treats and sprinkle them on food they don’t like to get them to eat it so it won’t go to waste, but even a drop of this food onto a whole treat turned them away. Total waste of $50. I doubt even the humane society will be able to use this stuff. I bought this because my cats really like the freeze dried raw food from Feline Natural. I crush it up and put water in it and they love it. But the canned food (all three flavors) is a waste of money. I can’t believe I spent $50 on each flavor and even the feral cats who live down the street won’t touch this. … more

    Excellent quality

    By on

My picky cat eats this food with relish. It and the venison available from Feline Naturals and the other New Zealand brands have healed my cat's gas and loose stools. Very expensive, but worth it.

    Top quality but expensive

    By on

Nothing comes even close to this formulation. It has all the essential ingredients that mimic a natural diet a) Meat b) Organ Meat c) Probiotics (flaxseed) and d) Fish Oil. Expect years of healthy and happy lives for your purry friend. It’s expensive, which makes it prohibitive. My two cats love it. They are health, happy and their coat glows. I would rather pay upfront than going to the vet later.

    No takers. I tried again.

I tried again, hoping........but nope! I wanted to feed healthy lamb to our two cats but neither will even approach their bowls. It is so funny to watch!! lol. They look at me like, "you think you're going to fool us? HA!" Why, I don't know because they absolutely loved the long ago formula of Ziwi Peak Lamb (until the formula was changed, that is).
