The photos and description make no mention of this being a convertible slip lead where you can create a nose loop to turn it into a sort of head halter. That's not what I wanted! The hardware can't be removed or positioned outside the neck loop. In addition, the rope is stiffer and doesn't seem to lay straight, and is also stretchier than previous slip leads I've had. As the other reviewer noted, the reflective material makes the rope feel rough and catches a little on either your gloves or on the slip ring. I'm returning it since it is not as described, so I can't comment on durability, but it does feel cheap.

Defective?

I got this because it gets great reviews so I’m not sure if mine is defective or what. I love how it works although I can’t say the thicker rope is the way to go. It makes using it as a head lead a bit awkward. It also has some stretch in it which I don’t enjoy in a leash at all. I’ve got a large learning puppy so that may be why. The big issue is that mine has sharp plastic poking through the entire lead. It’s very small but really kills my hands, every time the lead slides it sounds like fraying fabric as the sharp stuff is sticking out slightly and it can’t be comfortable on a dog snoot either. So mine is useless. I’d return it but I waited too long after I bought it to try it out.

I have a New Foundland and this training leash i purchased for my dog is very good quality. I have no problem controlling him with it, and I know he is safe at the same time. The braid is thick and sturdy and the color is brilliant. Very happy with my purchase.

Perfect!

This keeps your dog under control as it does put pressure, however it does not hurt them. I have a 20 lb dachshund this works perfect for. I also have a 75 lb Doberman

This keeps your dog under control as it does put pressure, however it does not hurt them. I have a 20 lb dachshund this works perfect for. I also have a 75 lb Doberman that has one also. I like how it puts pressure on letting them know they went too far without hurting them. I have used this type of leash for many years now and will never go back to anything else.

Good quality

We donated this leash as it was too big for our puppy, but seemed like a great quality item and good for training

Thick and durable

I like this better than a snap leash. It’s easier to put it on/off as well as fabulous for training or just walking. I have more control over my dog.

I help with volunteer transports. Protocols require a slip lead & a regular clip leash because some dogs we transport are anxious & scared. This works well on medium and large to giant breeds and it is reflective so it is easy to find in a dark car.

Very cost effective

Works great unless, like Minnie, your dog drags its nose on the concrete street to get it off its nose and skins its nose. Otherwise, I loved it!

Nice lead, might be a bit too thick

I think the 1/2" thickness would be good for a larger dog. For my 40lb dog it is probably not needed to be quite so thick. But overall a very nice product
