I was so hopeful that these would help my lab border collie mix. He gets so much exercise but he tends to be very anxious and nervous in certain situations. I didnt want to put him on medication, I wanted to go the more natural route. I did the recommended dose and it actually had the opposite affect. He was even more hyper and anxious. Running in circles insanely, panting heavily, and sniffing excessively. It was actually scary. I will not give him these anymore. Please be careful when giving to your dog for the first time. Start with less Incase of a bad experience for your dog. I feel terrible I gave him this bc of what happened to him. Never again. Glad its helped others though!
My dog gets terrible anxiety at certain loud noises. His triggers are fireworks, thunderstorms, & chirping smoke detectors. When he hears one of those sounds, even for a moment, he starts shivering & pacing around. I really hate to see him like that! These little chill pills help to relax him & promote his falling asleep. I love that it works to alleviate his stress & give him a more calm demeanor. I also love all of the natural ingredients that I can actually pronounce & look up to read about. I've tried other supplements & a complaint I have is that my dog won't eat them if he is already in his anxious mode; however, these must taste so good to him because he will take it even in the middle of a storm!
I received Finn Calming Aid as part of a free sample program and I would happily purchase them for my dogs! First and foremost I recognize and can pronounce the ingredients and the dogs love the taste. Now on the the taste testers themselves. Pepper is a Boxer, who in her advanced age, gets overly excited by almost anything outside the house. On walks other dogs, people and even the occasional stray tree will work her up to the point where she can only fixate on that and being a boxer she is very vocal. This has led to her occasionally not coming on outings or walks. The Finn Calming Aid helps her regulate the excitement and has brought her down to a normal Boxer energy level. Her brother, Dutch, hates car rides. He will stress out the entire drive. We gave him Finn Calming aids before our camping trip this weekend which was over 4 hours away. 30 minutes into the drive he was out like a light! He never stressed out and we all enjoyed the experience. Dutch and Pepper highly recommend Finn Calming Aids.
My dog Boudreaux has pretty bad anxiety triggered by a few different things (getting his picture taken is one of them lol). He has a prescription, but it makes him very drowsy and wobbly, so I like using supplements unless he's having a really bad time. I received a can of Finn Calming Aid from a free sample program and was eager to try it, since we've used their joint supplements before. Boudreaux really seems to like the taste and thinks that they're a treat. It does seem to keep him calm when I give it to him before known stressful events and I like that the ingredients are natural. Unlike a prescription, it doesn't make him woozy. I would definitely recommend giving this a try if you have a nervous dog.
I received Finn Calming Aid as a part of a free sample program. I have been giving it to my small terrier for almost two weeks and haven't really noticed a lot of change in his behavior. He is quite reactive when he gets stressed so he is at the top of the stressed/uptight spectrum. I am going to continue giving it to him because I feel like this type of supplement takes at least 30 days to really be effective. It comes in a nice container in a convenient form. It is a small, soft moist chewable that can easily be eaten by even a small pup. It does have a smell different from other supplements I've used, a little strong (maybe the liver). My pup won't eat it like a treat but gobbles it up when I put it in his bowl with his food. At this point, I am giving it a 4 star rating because it looks and feels like a quality product.
I received this calming aid as a part of a free sample program. Let me start by saying my dog has extreme anxiety with thunderstorms and being left alone. I gave these as instructed for a few weeks. With his size, he was supposed to have two every day. He didn't love them but would eat them. Though, after about a week he seemed to enjoy them. We had thunderstorms this week so I was really able to put them to the test and I actually do believe it helped him! He was still nervous and obviously not happy but he wasn't shaking and wasn't hiding in the kids bathtub as usual! As for his anxiety with me getting ready to leave the house, these did nothing. I will probably continue to purchase these for storms and fireworks but as for his separation anxiety, it's not helpful :(. I gave 4 stars because I have tried other products that claim to help with anxiety and they don't help at all. These truly did help with thunderstorms. I just wish it helped with separation. This brand seems great. Great ingredients, cute containers that aren't plastic, and they have so many different varieties targeted to different situations. I'm actually planning to purchase their hip and joint treats soon! Overall, I'd say try it and see how it goes for your pup!
I received Finn Wellness Calming Aid Supplement for Dogs for free through a sampling program in exchange for my honest review. This chewable supplement is made with organic herbs and is intended to help calm anxiety, hyperactivity, and stress related to separation anxiety, thunderstorms, travel, fireworks, etc. I have 3 dogs, ranging in age from 6 months to 6 years, who deal with anxiety when home alone during the day. When they're stressed they will often chew items and bark excessively. On the first day, I gave my smaller dogs 1 chew each and my large dog 2 chews, according to dosing instructions. All of them seemed to love the flavor. I have cameras which I can use to check in on the dogs remotely and I was pleased to see the dogs were much calmer than normal. They weren't barking excessively or chewing and they were actually able to nap throughout the day-no hyperactive pacing or scratching at the door! I have been using these treats for a couple weeks and am very pleased with the results. My dogs are much calmer, there's been no destructive chewing, and no fits of barking or howling when I'm gone. These chews also didn't cause any stomach issues for my dogs. I am a huge fan of this products packaging. It comes in a sturdy metal tin that keeps the chews fresh and can be repurposed when empty. I'm going to continue using this for my dogs. It has truly made a huge difference in their behavior. I would definitely recommend this product for any dog owner who deals with anxious pets.
I received this product as part of a free sample program Our dog gets horrible separation anxiety whenever we are gone and scared of the slightest things. My husband and I were eager to find something for her to calm her down a bit so I was excited when I had the opportunity to try these. We now give her a treat when we leave or when it is storming and we can definitely tell a difference. She is a lot more calm than usual. I was worried that a product like this she would not want to eat the treat but she absolutely loves them. We shared with a friend of ours and they recently just bought a container of their own they loved it so much. We will bc keeping these on hand as our dog loves them and we are happy with the results.
My Doberman puppy (4 months old) has resisted crate training, but with these calming chews we have made some progress. Since we started giving them to her about 40-60 minutes before putting her in the crate, her separation anxiety has been manageable.
First off, I received Finn Calming Aid Soft Chew Dog Supplement for free from BzzAgent in exchange for my honest opinion/review. My almost 13 year old rescue Doberman is not a fan of anything medicine related, but he gobbled these right up. I mixed in his food to introduce them, and he dug them out. I tried to give it to him daily, around the same time and monitor whether or not there was a noticeable change in his demeanor. For background, he lived outside tethered to a tree before coming to me, his forever home with treats, beds, and love. He's always scared of thunder, and hides in a bedroom. He's also kind of a grumpy old man now, fusses if there's too much commotion and retreats to the bedroom. I didn't see an obvious change in his stress/anxiety after a few weeks of taking Finn. I wonder if maybe I should have given him more than 4 a day due to his size, but didn't want to overdo it.
