The AquaClear Biomax is one of those products that just works, and works incredibly well. I’m using it in my AC110, and the difference in stability and water quality has been noticeable. The ceramic rings have tons of surface area, which means tons of room for beneficial bacteria to thrive — exactly what you want for a strong, healthy nitrogen cycle. What I really appreciate is how clean and consistent the product is. The rings aren’t dusty, they rinse easily, and they come in a sturdy mesh bag that drops right into the filter without any hassle. Paired with the AquaClear sponge and carbon, it creates an extremely reliable 3-stage filtration system. Since adding Biomax, my tank parameters have stayed rock-solid, even with a heavy bioload. No ammonia spikes, no weird fluctuations — just stable, healthy water. This is one of the best upgrades you can make for long-term tank health. If you own an AquaClear 70 or 110, this is an absolute must-buy. Highly recommended!

We currently use both a large Fluval canister filter and a Fluval hang-on-back filter, and the performance of their filtration media has been consistently excellent. We have never encountered any issues with their filter media, and the quality, reliability, and effectiveness remain unmatched in our experience. For these reasons, we confidently give all Fluval filter media a 5-star rating.
