It is recommended to fill the aquarium with water that is close to the desired temperature you are trying to achieve. The aquarium heater must be positioned to allow for free circulation of water around the glass heater tube. Generally, the heater should be placed at the rear of the aquarium, preferably close to a source of water movement to ensure even and thorough distribution of warmed water. Be sure there are no rocks, decorations or gravel obstructions touching the heater to create uneven heat in the glass tube and weaken it.
1) Select the appropriate temperature by adjusting the Temperature Dial to the appropriate degree calibration.
2) Position the heater in the aquarium with the heater mounting bracket attached. Press suction cups firmly against glass to adhere to the aquarium wall. Wait 30 minutes before connecting to the electrical outlet. This allows the heater to adjust to the aquarium water temperature.
3) Note that it may take up to 12 hours for the heater to attain the water temperature you have selected. It is only after this time that the Easy-Set Temperature Dial should be adjusted to achieve a higher or lower temperature, as required.
4) The unit heats only when the pilot light is illuminated. When the pre-selected temperature is reached, the pilot light shuts off. It will light again only when the heater is required to maintain the temperature at the selected level.
5) The temperature should be verified with an accurate thermometer after the heater has reached the desired temperature, before any fish are added to the aquarium, and throughout the life of the aquarium.

Fish tank heater
By Honey on Jan 17, 2021
This is probably my favorite addition to my tank. Its modern its elegant and highly accommodating with multiple ways to position. Its a little confusing at first and does take a day or so to sufficiently do its job in my 3 gallon tank. It lights up a soft blue in the middle when it feels a temperature change in the water and fine print states it has a 3 year warranty. Im in love with this product and so far has been worth every penny. My betta seems to like it too since I caught him hanging around it a few times.

Maintains temp
By Saltwater24 on Nov 7, 2020
I bought this for my evo 13.5 gal aquarium after having issues with a different fluval 50w heater. The old heater would get way to hot and a wide fluctuation in temps. I bought this because it has a temp dial you can set. So far since I have set it up, every time I check my aquarium temp it is 78.4, never changes. Not sure why some people gave this bad reviews.

disappointed
By lisa on Oct 30, 2019
I ordered this based on reviews. It worked for about 2 days and then broke. I’m quite irritated and now am in the market for a new heater.

Junk that works for 24 hours
By John on Apr 27, 2019
Read the reviews like most and most were good so I bought this thinking I would be getting a good heater and it was for 24 hours took about 12 hours to heat up to 80 degs and held for 12 hours then failed to heat up past 78 degs and hold any stable temp. Do not buy this if you need stable temp in your tank it will let you down just like it did for me.

Pretty good
By MeganN on Sep 28, 2018
I was worried to use it in my 5 gallon because I was scared it would make the tank way too hot but it works farely well. Every so often it will be about 3 degrees more than what I have it set on so I recommend you monitor your tank regularly but other than that it’s works well

Not worth the money.
By Rich on Nov 18, 2018
Put the heater in a 10 gallon aquarium wouldn’t heat it to 78 degrees with a 10 degrees room temperature.
