Water level should not rise above the maximum water line or below the minimum indicated on the glass heater tube. Always maintain the water level in the aquarium to compensate for water loss due to evaporation.
It is recommended to fill the aquarium with water that is close to the desired temperature you are trying to achieve. The aquarium heater must be positioned to allow for free circulation of water around the glass heater tube. Generally, the heater should be placed at the rear of the aquarium, preferably close to a source of water movement to ensure even and thorough distribution of warmed water. Be sure there are no rocks, decorations or gravel obstructions touching the heater to create uneven heat in the glass tube and weaken it.
1) Select the appropriate temperature by adjusting the Temperature Dial to the appropriate degree calibration.
2) Position the heater in the aquarium with the heater mounting bracket attached. Press suction cups firmly against glass to adhere to the aquarium wall. Wait 30 minutes before connecting to the electrical outlet. This allows the heater to adjust to the aquarium water temperature.
3) Note that it may take up to 12 hours for the heater to attain the water temperature you have selected. It is only after this time that the Easy-Set Temperature Dial should be adjusted to achieve a higher or lower temperature, as required.
4) The unit heats only when the pilot light is illuminated. When the pre-selected temperature is reached, the pilot light shuts off. It will light again only when the heater is required to maintain the temperature at the selected level.
5) The temperature should be verified with an accurate thermometer after the heater has reached the desired temperature, before any fish are added to the aquarium, and throughout the life of the aquarium.

I bought this heater for my 29 gallon setup. It had been recommended to me by several people, so I splurged on it. So disappointing! I'd keep turning the temp up and my tank never went above 72. I even adjusted the dial as high as it would go and the temp stayed at 75. Don't waste your money on this heater!
Works as described. I am buying another for my second aquarium.
The best aquarium heater I have purchased. Extremely accurate and the appearance in the aquarium is elegant. In fact, I am purchasing another one to replace a different heater that I purchased that is NOT heating the aquarium sufficiently.
ive had this for two months now and it just up and stopped working on me. could i get a recommendation on a new one?
This is too tall for my tank. I have the 5 gallon Aqua Culture starter kit and it’s much too tall for my tanks water level. I’m sure it would work fine for a taller tank. Definitely going to try to return.
Pretty nice heater. I was sceptical about the glass cover but it does look nicer I think than plain black. The picture does not do it justice. I have it in a 5 gallon nano so no, it does not fit in the filter area if you keep the sponge. But it is fully submersible so you can put it like mine in the tank. The downsize is it is visible, the upside is it has no issue at all keeping temp. The smaller size ones might
This heater works OK. I have the white Edge tank so the silver and black on this heater make it very noticable, and due to it's large size, it's hard to hide. The best way to hide something is to make it blend in. This does not.
I have a 6 gallon tank at my office that I got a preset heater for. My beta on the weekends when I wasn’t there the tank would get slight chilly for a betas liking. This one is preset to 80 and he is warm even on the weekends!
Very satisfied. Heaters can be hit or miss but this one is working, Only 3 weeks, like it should. I am hoping this one lasts for years like the other Fluval heaters I own.
I bought this for my beta tank, I set it up and everything and it doesn’t work. I don’t even think it heated up at all
