I have purchased this tank twice because I love how it looks, first time I bought it from a store, second time from chewy. Both times the tanks light has started to malfunction within months of purchasing. The first time I let it go as a fluke and just bought a new one from chewy because I decided I wanted white and not black so didn’t bother perusing warranty for the light. I was shocked when the exact same problem happened with the second tank. Unfortunately chewy cannot replace for me unless I send whole tank back which I understand but what am I supposed to do with my fish? I would just have to buy a new tank set up to hold the fish in while waiting for the replacement so what’s the point? Reached out to manufacturer and they provided the same option so I’m basically stuck having to pay again to order a new light direct from fluval or buy another tank set up Would not recommend you purchase this at all, obviously there is some defect in how they manufacture the light for this to have happened to Me twice.

Fluval aquarium.

The tank itself is perfect. The top could be manufactured better. It is way too flimsy. It should be made about twice as thick.

This tank is a total upgrade from my previous one. I like that the equipment and filter is hidden behind a plastic “wall”. However, this can make cleaning a bit more difficult. You also loose about 1-2 gallons of water in the back compartment so it isn’t a full 9 gallons of swim space. The LED light is fun, but to prevent algae I usually only use it near bedtime to set a chill vibe. I have had betta fish for about 3 years now, this is a great starter tank that gives them enough room to swim. With the tanks design, it takes up less space which is great for small spaces. Overall I love this tank and so far the pros outweigh the cons. It was easy to set up and my fish is happy!

Perfect size!

This 9 gallon tank is the perfect size for what was needed. We are using it as a “hospital “ tank, also for new fish isolation as well as some new plants. No pics

I have a White 9 Gallon Flex and a Black 15 Gallon Flex. Someone in these reviews mentioned a problem of algae. What I have found is that algae in this tank does well with the white light setting, and if one sets it to yellow they will not have an algae problem. My suggestion is to use yellow with Java Ferns. The 15 Gallon is a Bare Bottom w some marbles and stuff down there for decoration. The regular filter system, and separate back area works well, and is similar to the competitor's Marineland Portrait. There really is currently enough filtration, yet I added a Corner Filter w a 20 Gallon Whisper Pump, since full grown might be a bit crowded. The 9 Gallon currently has no plants, will be adding later, due to copper treatment that has fixed a problem. The tank should be ok with this current number of fish, I may add some more filtration. I never change the Bio-Rings in the filter, just the charcoal, which is inexpensive. These aquariums are easy maintenance. Algae are easy to scrub off glass vs. acrylic, one just has to keep at it. I have been in the aquarium hobby since I was around 10 years old and I am 68 years old tomorrow. I might know a little bit? When I first began "Exotic Aquarium Fishes" by William Innes had different approaches than what people are doing in the hobby today, yet I find a few beautiful fish, (my 10 gallon has 9 Cardinal Tetras, 1 Red Betta, 3 Cory, with filtration at 200 GPH, HOB and two corners), well...just make sure you have enough filtration, do your cleaning, and one can go over the 1 inch of fish per gallon rule, yet don't go over way too much.
