My lab retriever/terrier mix started shedding a lot these past couple months even though we didn’t change his food or anything. I’ve tried countless brushes to get his shedding under control and this brush was magical. I loved collecting little piles of short hair and showing him what we got! He liked the brush although I recommend really taking your time and going slowly. We did try this on our long-haired king charles spaniel, but it did not work as anything other than a massager. So I wouldn’t recommend for long-haired dogs.
This brush is great for dogs of all hair types. Its perfect for dogs with short hair like in a pitbull, boxer, pug, beagle, etc. This will essentially be the only brush you need for those hair types. For dogs with a double coat like german shepherds and huskies, this will be good to get off the top layer of fur but you will still need a slicker brush and an undercoat rake for these hair types. For dogs with long hair like golden retrievers, collies, pomeranians, etc this may not be as necessary but can still be good to get off loose hair. You will still need a slicker brush and a greyhound comb. I dont necessarily recommend for dogs with curly hair such as a poodle, goldendoodle, shih tzu, etc. It wont help at all, instead use a slicker brush and a greyhound comb. These brushes typically come with two sides, one with bigger spikes that youll use all along the body and the other with smaller spike and possibly some little circles as well depending on the style. The small side will be used where the fur is thinnest (along the legs, the head, and the chest/belly) or to get the very top layer of fur off. They can also be used both wet and dry, when wet theyre good to massage the shampoo/conditioner into the fur (especially with deshedding treatments) but for getting the fur off your dog its great when used fully dry Good spots to focus on are around the collar, between the sholder blades, and the butt. This is my favorite brush to use! Enjoy grooming :)
Fantastic! Just as advertised.
This made dog bath time much more efficient! It looks exactly as it does in the photos. It is made of high quality materials and seems to be well made.
Fresco Bone Dog Brush
Works great on my German shorthair pointers. Pulls the dead hair out and massages their skin to keep their coats shiny and healthy
Bone Dog Curry Brush
I was eager to use this on my german shepherd/ husky mix dog! I recently adopted her and have been regularly bathing her. She has a lot of hair and a really thick undercoat. HSe needs a good brush to really get to her skin to cleanse the dirt. This brush seemed to bother her when I used it. Maybe the rubber was too harsh? it was hard to tell if it got down to the skin and threw the fur. I was not happy with it! I ended up about half way not even using it anymore.
Handy to use with waterless shampoo
I bought this to use with the waterless shampoo and it worked fine. Reminded me of something similar my Grandmother used on me to wash my hair....felt good on my scalp. My pit seemed to enjoy it, so definitely good for short haired pets.
Good for long hair pets
Got this for my long hair, double coated doggo and it really helps to get the shampoos through all the hair. He seems to love it too, it gives him a good scratching session!
My dog LOVES this brush!
My dog sheds a lot, but she hates when I brush her with the Furminator (she usually sits down then rolls over so I can't brush her). I bought this brush to use during baths to help cut down on shedding, but it works great for when she's dry too. Not only does it loosen up a ton of hair, but she loves it and gets excited when I take it out. Can't recommend it enough!
My dog recently went through his fall shed so he was a bit dull and flaky from the constant brushing. I used this for the first time with his regular dog shampoo. It makes the shampoo so sudsy and I was able to use so much less shampoo. I was worried it would hurt or bother my dog but it did not! The hair coming off my dog mostly stayed on the brush making for easier cleanup. My dog is so shiny and soft now!
Bathtime game changer!
I have one of these types of brushes that I used for myself and it never occurred to me to use one on my dogs. I have a 60lb Standard Poodle and a 20lb Toy Poodle/Lhasa Apso mix and this thing is AWESOME! They are so much cleaner in a shorter amount of time. They also seem to really love the feeling of it!
