I have a terrible time finding toys my cat will play with. Her favorite toy is a live mouse, which she kills in a matter of seconds before I can stop her. So I've bought her 4 different kinds of mouse toys, but usually she shows no interest from the start; other times she plays with the toy a while and then stops. Ditto with everything else I buy: she either won't touch it at all or gets tired of it immediately. Lately I've been so desperate I gave her a Q-tip, which she ignored until I'd gone to bed...and then she went wild with it all over the house and eventually carried her "kill" to her nap spot on the sofa (see photo). So from that background, you can tell this is a quirky cat who's extremely hard to please. But...she LOVES this mouse toy! I swung it and dragged it for her, and she took to it instantly and played harder than I've ever seen. It's big enough that she can really grab hold and kick it hard; in fact, in just one play session she's already kicked the neck bald, but that's not the toy's fault - she went nuts over it. So I highly recommend this, especially if your kitty is an obsessive mouser. :)

My Nerf (dom. short hair rescue), used to carry around a ragged, small dog toy (one of the string ones that has knots at both ends) and he finally got it to shreds

My Nerf (dom. short hair rescue), used to carry around a ragged, small dog toy (one of the string ones that has knots at both ends) and he finally got it to shreds. I tried replacing it with a new replica, and he wouldn't have it. He has separation anxiety and will carry it around "crying" ( it's terribly heartbreaking, mind you I work from home and we're never apart for long.) I had gotten one of these Bouncy Mouses (meeces?) and slid the little ring end into his cat fort tower so it dangled there, helplessly. Nerf ignored it for a year, then one day, I see that it's been liberated from its tether to the cat tower. He carries it around and mews with it in his mouth. I buy these relentlessly to be able to replace in the event he destroys it (he will pull the fur out of it, and occasionally the appendages ((but he never swallows it, I do not consider it dangerous in any manner))). I cut the bouncy cord off of it and put it in his bed. Forever grateful for this little toy.
