Good size squirrel with a long tail & it is loosely stuffed. You can continue replacing catnip inside. I liked it OK--not overly thrilled but I don't see anything better on the market today unless you get creative & make something yourself. It remains to be seen if my kitty will take to it--she played with it right away & then left it there. I like it. It appears to be well made & very safe. I have at home a life-like really well made super-stuffed mouse--a one of a kind I will never find again--ever. I got it at a national pet food store when my baby was very young. It stayed there unused, unnoticed while she preferred two yellow types that strangely disappeared who knows where. This special mouse remained in her private area under two 64" cat trees for YEARS & I mean years. I don't think it has catnip in it, & if a toy appeals to a cat, you don't necessarily have to have catnip to get her or him interested. It was not until many years later (about two or three years ago) and probably up to 8 years later she finally discovered the wonder of that special mouse & it has been her TOP favorite ever since then & she plays with it each and every day & she has a very special loud distinctive meow I recognize even when I am under the shower when she brings it near me as a gift. I already washed it in perfume free, vegan & earth friendly detergent, rinsed, squeezed the water out & dried it. I make a big joyous fuss to make her happy & just to see her pleased, pleases me. The moral of the story is *have patience*. If your cat doesn't like it right away, wait a bit. It happened to me LOL--did I have to wait! Here I had bought her such a special life-like mouse created to utter perfection, expensive & she didn't even notice it until years later. This squirrel is mostly likely washable in the same manner. You need to remove the catnip first. Some mention a vinegar rinse which might be a good idea after a wash.
My cat absolutely adores this little guy. Carries it around the house in his mouth and runs around with it like he's having the time of his life, then when he sleeps he'll cuddle up with it. Have since gotten him several similar toys, but it seems like his favourite will always be his squirrely : )
My cat went bananas the first moment I took this out and put the catnip in it. She played with it for an hour until she just rested on it. Then after a day.....she lost interest. I have to get her revved up and entice her to play with it now. It's a cute little toy and stays shut when you put the catnip in it.......she's just pickier than most cats.
Indy loves this toy. She’s 16 and still has spunk so I gave it a try. She bats it all over and carries it in her mouth. Only suggestion is find a way to keep the Velcro from clogging with cat nip while filling and closing.
No sooner did I get this out and put the catnip in the tummy, (and sprinkle a little on the top), Bitty Boo, who was watching my every move from the hallway - came into the dining room and was rolling on top of it.
Wasn’t sure if my kitty would like this toy or not but it turned out to be a huge hit. It’s very easy to fill with catnip and seems to be pretty durable as well. It was a great price and we are super happy with this purchase.
We'd gotten her the Frisco mouse at one point a year or so ago, and it quickly became a must-play-with toy. But it seems she likes this squirrel even more! Maybe it's the ears :) (She likes to walk around with it, holding it by the ears.) Very sturdy ... she's played rough with the mouse forever .... I'm sold on these Frisco plush animal toys for my cat.
I purchased from the Birthday Shop for my sweet but antisocial Sandie girl. She rarely hangs out with me while I work but I caught her having the time of her life loving him! He’s now affectionately named Danny Zuko haha! Plus he arrived in less than 24 hours after ordering. Thank you Chewy for high quality products and fast shipping!
My cat loved this toy - he was tossing it about and fetching!!! The Catnip is the bomb! He went nuts for the catnip. The refill is a great concept!
This catnip squirrel is a good toy except that it is difficult to pack with catnip. I can't really talk about durability as our cats rarely get off on the catnip.
