It was a bit pricey and super heavy, but I bought one for my three youngest dogs last year when I was very pregnant. I was worried that it would be super frustrating to set up, but I needed to change my kennel set up due to the pending baby and setting up the bedroom to accommodate an infant. The setup was super simple and didn't require me to pick up and hold anything while attaching things. It was easier to set up than the black wire crates. My 3 youngest dogs, all high energy, share the crate without any issue. It is study and has withstood wet dogs, fussy dogs, energetic playful dogs. I am now debating on if I should buy a second crate due to my youngest dog growing to her full size which is about 55lbs/22" tall, causing the once spacious crate to be a bit cramped for the lab and bc/gsd. I love the quality, and while it costs a pretty penny, I don't regret that purchase at all. That being said, my dogs do not suffer from crate anxiety and do not attack their enclosures at any point. Maybe if the dog is not crate trained or suffers from crate anxiety or boredom, you may wa t to get a crate that is intentionally made for a more destructive pup. The wide distance between the bars will allow a dog to bite them and possibly cause damage to themselves and the crate. It is not so big that a dog head can get stuck unless they are tiny tiny tiny dogs. Good luck, and I hope this helps someone trying to decide if this is the crate for them.
I bought this for my 40lb senior dog in my apartment. I never moved it from the location assembled and my dog never tried escaping it or anything so it was not used roughly AT ALL. When I went to move 2 years later the thing completely fell apart when I reversed the assembly steps to move it to my new home. The screws all pulled through and it’s completely unusable now. For this much money, get your money’s worth and go elsewhere. Don’t be stuck like me with bo safe place to keep your dog while all your belongings are out because you’re moving. Yay half my stuff being chewed up because I bought a piece of garbage.
Always hesitant spending over 600$ on an item sight - unseen. The bad: The bars are metal hollow tubes = not strong. I can bend them with my hands. Dog with a strong jaw will easily bend them and could get their head caught if trying to push out. The entire structure is made of laminate clad fiberboard including the lid. This allows for easy damage/dings so inspect immediately after delivery. Mine came with crushed corner on lid likely from someone dropping the box. Big hassle having to dismantle and rebox given the weight of over 100lbs. The good: Overall nice appearance at a distance. Much better than having a black metal crate in the living room. The Chewy rep initiated the return quickly. My general impression however, is that this should not cost more than $550 given the materials involved and overall quality.
This is an expensive crate that looks beautiful and is multifunctional as a side table. But none of that matters if your dog can bend the metal bars like putty. I've had this crate less than a week and my dog is heavily medicated right now and not at her full strength. She was only left in it for a short period too. Highly disappointed does not begin to express how I feel. They used sub-par metal. My dog is not a great white shark. This should not have happened this easily with a crate of this price point and it's too much of a hassle to ship back.
I spent a long time trying to find the perfect sized dog create. We purchased this one, and loved it. It was made well, and the dogs loved the space in it. Less than six months into owning it, the door broke because the wooden dowels, broke. Chewy's customer service made me feel like they would replace it. Now over a month later, I am still without a replacement. Very frustrated with the customer service department. Everyone is very sweet, but nothing gets done. Will not purchase any large items from them again.
Me, my husband, and our dog love this credenza crate! We bought it after we purchased our new home in hopes that it would look more aesthetically pleasing in our living room than just a metal wire dog crate - and it definitely does! It was super easy to assemble and it didn't take our dog long at all to adjust to it from his previous typical dog crate. Some reviews I read talked about people's dogs being too strong for the bars, but these seem to be perfectly durable enough for our 20 pound mini aussie. This was also one of the best prices we were able to find online. Super happy with this purchase!
This looked great and worked well for a few months. Now after regular use the dog door broke apart. Looks like it was just being barely held together by a few dowels. Definitely would not recommend
We have had this pet credenza for over a year and we absolutely love it. I’ve had to replace the pads a couple months later but it’s still my favorite. Easy to clean, it was easy to put together, the boys love it too.
The kennel arrived with damage to the four corners (one had a piece of black tape to hide it), a bent hinge and screws that weren’t flush (improperly screwed in). This was sent from the manufacturer and the corners were “shimmed in” so the damage was done before the piece was boxed. Purchased the black so used a sharpie to make the corners blend in, fixed the screw and the damaged hinge is still functional. Chewy offered a return, but it’s over 100 lbs. so I’m keeping it. But I paid full price for a damaged item. If it was sent in good shape, my review would have been a 5. If you are planning on purchasing, recommend you call Chewy to see if these issues have been resolved.
Mom got me this new bedroom now that im a big girl and i love it so much! It can hold all my blankies and toys and i cant wait to sleep on my new comfy beds!
