I know this was meant for cats but I works so good on my shepherd mix! I mean I’ve tried a slicker, a comb, a rake, one of those loop metal brushes( worked but broke coat), one of those hand brushes with black bristles like a toothbrush, and not a single one of them removed as much hair as this curry brush did with my dog it’s a lifesaver!
I cannot believe how worth it this simple brush is. Unlike the wire/slicker brush, I can apply pressure and my cat leans IN for brushing! The amount of fur it removed was really beyond belief. My cat purred happily the entire time and rolled around to find better angles and different scritchy spots.
My short-haired cats never tolerated more than a couple of strokes from brushes and combs, but they *love* this. But it doesn't hold the loosened hair very well, so you end up picking off little tufts with your fingers.
One of my cats, Nacho, is a chonky boy who needs some help grooming... But he hates all the brushes my other cats love! My theory is that it's the bristles touching his skin that bugs him so much, so I decided to try this one that is stiff silicone instead of plastic or metal. One side has conical bristles, which my other cats love. The other side has what I can best describe as "nubs" that do an impressive job of sweeping away loose hair without digging very far into the cat's coat. Nacho will let me use this side for several minutes before protesting, which is a huge improvement over one or two swipes with a slicker brush!
I bought this brush as part of a brush-buying spree when I brought home my domestic longhair. As an extremely fluffy girl, she needs to be brushed regularly (which she fortunately loves). I had been brushing her with a wire slicker brush, which made her coat smooth but didn't really help remove any shed fluff. This brush on the other hand . . . within minutes I was covered in undercoat. After about ten minutes of brushing (with Mocha purring the entire time and headbutting me whenever I tried to stop), my pants, floor, and arms were all coated in fur. In fact, tumbleweeds of fur were everywhere except for on the cat, so I count that as a success! With this and the Frisco undercoat rake, I am able to get all of the trapped undercoat out and off of my girl with no difficulty whatsoever. 10/10 would buy again!
I purchased this for my cats Frank and Stella. True to their personality Stella loves to be pampered and loved this brush. It’s taken more time for Frank, our male 1.5 year old, to sit for it. Despite only being able to use the brush for 10 seconds on Frank it works REALLY well! I suggest using it while your cat sleeps and cupping it in your hand. This has worked really well to alleviate any fears. The level of cat hair is down and we are really happy with this purchase! Thank you!
My Frenchies groomer recommend this brush, and love it!!! It works better than the furminator. Thank you!
My shorthair cat LOVES this brush, and I love that it grabs so much hair!!! You can even use it to rub hair off the couch/blanket/wherever when you’re done.
Tommy the cat likes to be brushed at night before bed. He likes his metal brushes but he seems to like his new Cat Curry Brush more. It is gentler than the metal brush but still removes loose hair. I can even brush his tummy with it and I don't have to worry about hurting the whiskers on his head. So inexpensive but so nice.
Both my longhair ragdoll kitty, Hannah and I are IN LOVE with this Fish Shaped Curry Brush/Groomer. I'll be buy a few more for future years to come and GIFTS for my longhaired cats. DOES A FANTASTIC JOB and CLEANS easily.
