Faulty Instructions

The assembly instructions were faulty. The very first step is to screw in the lock on the top of the playpen (no power tools needed, it claimed). On the instructions,

The assembly instructions were faulty. The very first step is to screw in the lock on the top of the playpen (no power tools needed, it claimed). On the instructions, it looks like you're supposed to screw in the lock right above the middle of the two connect panels. Well, that's not true. Once assembled, the lock was in the wrong position. I then struggled to try to re-screw the lock in place in its correct position, but it was extremely difficult doing this while everything was assembled. I couldn't get the screws straight. I'm going to have to zip-tie it instead. For over $300, Chewy should have provided holes, preferably with threads instead of forcing you to make holes to screw in the lock with a screwdriver. Perhaps if you have access to power tools (which the instructions say you don't need), you will have an easier time screwing them in, but you'll still need to take care to get them in the right position. I wouldn't pay more than $50 for this thing - can't believe I shelled over $300 for this.

Multiple levels, using on covered patio

1 of my cats loves rolling on the concrete patio. My other cat is happy to be outside. The outdoor one we had before had to be tied down bc wind blew it in the yard more than once. I added screen to each side using upholstery tacks. We have lots of flies and to reduce mosquito potential. I cover it with a grill gover that I made longer in height for extreme weather in hopes it lasts a long time even outside. Additionally the screen helped keep out the frogs that kept trying to visit when it wasn't occupied.

Great play pen

I initially bought this for a rabbit hutch but had to return it because it is way too nice for that! Was super easy to put together (and take down). I would say

I would say that it is not overly big or very tall. It would be nice for an apartment or small space. But I would not leave my cats in there 24/7. I would just use it as a safe place if need be.

Easy to assemble & sturdy

Small for a large adult cat. I wouldn’t leave a cat in this cage for more than an hour due to limited movement. There’s no room for a full sized litter box.

Seems Sturdy/looks nice

I have a full sized cat. This seems pretty sturdy, but I will probably put a little weight at the bottom if I leave her alone in it as an extra precaution. She is

I have a full sized cat. This seems pretty sturdy, but I will probably put a little weight at the bottom if I leave her alone in it as an extra precaution. She is pretty heavy, and I could see it tipping if she got too rumbunctious on the top level. I wish it were a little wider so a larger litter box could fit in. I also wish they had put ties on the cushion because they slide off when she jumps up. I plan to sew some ties on. Heavy duty velcro might also work. It was very easy and quick to put together. I don't think this would hold up well outside, but I don't think the manufacture implied it should be. The cage wire is strong. Other cages of this type are made from what looks like thin wire. I noticed that the pictures for the other cages were all small cats. I have a feeling they are not very stable which is why I chose this one. I was also concerned about the stability of the shelves. These are sturdy. I think I made the right choice. It looks pretty too. Might cat went right in, up to the top level and laid right down immediately once I gave her access.

Some adjustments needed.

The marks for the screws for the top opening latch had to be changed so that the latch would work. The beds must be secured, otherwise will end up on the floor
