Quality isn't too good
The mat fits my puppy's crate perfectly but the light grey fabric on the top is very thin so if your dog likes to scratch or dig in his bed, this is not the right one to get. Within two uses the fabric on the top is starting to give since my dog likes to dig a bit before settling into bed. The padding inside is also egg crate which might be another reason why my puppy keeps digging as he doesn't do that with his other mats.
Not worth the price
I loved this when I had initially purchased it, but after just a few short months of use, it has started sagging in the center, which is such a disappointment given how much I spent on it.
An Absolute Sham
I ordered the bed thinking it would be a cooling gel memory foam type thing. Got it and it's basically a rectangular cut out of the egg carton foam people put on their mattresses as toppers. It did not seem to keep our puppy cool. The only redeeming quality is that the outside part of the bed has a zipper for easy removal and cleaning. The inside would probably not survive a washing machine. We have had the bed less than a week and the outside part of the bed is covered in snags from puppy taking his favorite chew toy to bed with him. The quality of the material does not seem animal appropriate given the numerous snags on a fairly new bed. This was my first purchase from Chewy. The product was basically garbage. It was delivered when it was expected. Honestly not sure if I would order from here again based on this purchase. I would definitely not recommend this particular product to anyone else.
Egg Foam Crate Mat
I ordered this mat for our Vizsla’s crate. He’s a 50 lb, 9 month old puppy. He ripped a corner of the cover immediately. He then bit at the mat which caused the egg foam inside to tear apart. Then last night he peed on it. He hasn’t peed inside since he was a few weeks old. I removed the cover to wash it and all the liquid soaked right through into the egg foam mat. Gross. So within a week, he destroyed it and it’s out for the trash already. Needless to say he hated this bed for whatever reason. Plus side- it does fit perfect in the crate. May be good for older dogs but not curious puppies.
Good at first, but not worth the money
I really liked this mat at first. It fit the crate perfectly, was supportive, and the cover was very cooling. After a few months though, my 40lb dog has created a large crater where he lays the most, and the foam creaks whenever he moves, waking me up at night. Having to replace it a lot earlier than I expected for such a nice brand. Really disappointed.
Very pleased with this mat
Our Giant Breed Alaskan Malamute is fussy about using a dog bed, but went to this mat and laid on it the morning after we set it up. I was afraid he might not want to go to his crate after I put it in there but it was not a problem at all. He sometimes even goes in the crate for no reason now, except to lay on the mat. I wish I had ordered this for him a long time ago.
Nice bed but is too high for the crate
The bed is very comfortable to my dog seemingly, but it is a tad too high in the crate and he is constantly biting at it and walking in and flipping it up because it’s too high, also his nails get caught on the fabric and it is flimsy so it easily pulls. It would be better as just a pad on the floor with a blanket maybe.
Started out great BUT
We bought this for our aging dog a year ago but she would not sleep on it for months because when she stepped on it, she sank and lost her balance. Eventually she adjusted. The zipper did not hold after only 4 washes (always blanket covered). The cover shrank when washed on eco-cold and air dried. The mat can no longer be used. This is the second Frisco mat that I have been extremely disappointed with.
easy to clean and lasting!
Love this! Super comfy for the crate. I have a pitbull and its comfortable for his bones and he hasn’t ripped it with his nails yet, which is a win! Easy to clean and lines the entire crate. Love love love!
Great Crate Mat
I bought this mat to go in an extra large crate while my boxer recovered from CCL surgery. This mat has great cushion to keep him comfortable after surgery -- the cooling material was a bonus and is just like the gel pillows they make for people -- you can really feel it. This crate mat will be perfect as a dog bed in another area of the house once his leg has healed up and the crate is no longer needed.
