The enhanced lock is a combination of a push button lock that secures the wire lock handle. The wire lock connects above and below the door by use of a wire handle. Pushing the wire handle into the push button lock secures the handle so it cannot be opened without pushing the button.

See the attached photo for reference, but the near the latch of this crate, there is an overlap of wires such that there is a significantly narrower section at the bottom of a normal vertical gap. My dog is still crate training, so he was doing a bit of whining and scratching at the door after going in the crate. As he brought his paw down along the vertical gap in the wires, his toe got stuck in this narrow space! The whining turned into louder panicked screaming and fortunately I was still there so I was able to rush to dislodge it for him. It was really wedged in that gap though and even I struggled a bit to carefully wiggle it out. I think he is okay, but he was really thrashing around with the stuck toe, so I'm hoping he didn't hurt himself. I will monitor him. Anyway, the crate itself otherwise seems sturdy and has other good features, so I'm going to keep it and modify it to get rid of the paw trap. But if you don't want to do that, I'd find a different crate. After looking at the reviews again after this incident, I see that this happened to at least one other dog too.
I thought I was purchasing a very good crate. While I like the size, its rusting. Bought it April 12, 2023 for my boxer pup. Yes, this crate is set and kept in the house only. He gets excited and drools next to the doors. The entire door on the side from 3 rows up are rusted, along with the bottom rail that the door closes on. Very disappointed. Now I'm going to have to shop for another brand since I don't want him to ingest rust at some point. He will be in a crate for about another 2 yrs, until he grows out of the puppy stage. This will not last that long.
Blu loves his new kennel! He outgrew his old one so for his 5 the birthday this year- this is what he got. So much room and a nice comfie bed. Is he spoiled, lol! Just a little! And with the $30 ecard, he got the bowls that attach to the bars of the kennel. He's on cloud 9. This was so affordable, I should have done it earlier. Thank you Chewy, for always being there for my pets!
I was a little reluctant due to some of the reviews stating it was hard to put together and I'm not a strong person. I ordered it anyhow and found it to be a piece of cake. I had no sticking or anything. The crate was big enough for me to get in with my dog. Lol! My dog has never been crated, but has huge separation anxiety (a known trait of pit bulls), so I am hoping this will give him some security. I love the easy to open side and end doors. It came with a waterproof pad. The pad isn't very thick, but was comfortable when I sat in on it with my dog.
We purchased two of these for our young pups, recommended by our in-home dog trainer for them to sleep in. When our pups were smaller, we purchased the PetSafe plastic crates which worked super too. But, these wired ones are very, very sturdy, so easy for them to stretch out very well and they appear to have a well rested night's sleep. Doors are secure but easy for us to open. Love the mat addition too. Perfect crate for each one of them. We ended up purchasing 2 more crates as we keep them in our living room for when they want quiet time.
I bought this for a semi feral cat who I trapped due to illness. I needed a safe, roomy space for him while he recovers. Set up was pretty easy. It has lots of room for litterbox, food, water and space for him to stretch out. I like the locking doors and I really appreciate having two doors.
When I ordered it, I wasn’t sure if it crate would be stable enough. Or it was the right size. So, yes it’s very big! But we have it tucked in an alcove. I wanted one big enough so she could stretch out. The best thing are the double latches are easy to use and very strong. Highly recommend it!
Received promptly. Set up was easy. Heavy duty...not convinced. My dog bent up the bars within two one hour uses. She hasn't escape yet but cut her snout on the bars. I've stopped using the kennel. Nikki is a 45 pound shot leg lab.
For the money I paid for this crate, it came with Styrofoam all crumbled on the inside, then at the bottom of one side panel I had to pull apart with plyers for the two panels to connect. Then at the top of two different panels the first hook was so bent that a human couldn't straighten it out. I needed a crate ASAP so I put it together and keeping it since I need one now and can't wait for a refund and then to get a new one. Also, online it says it comes with a divider, there is no divider, the manual doesn't even mention a divider either. The one door opens well, but the side door doesn't open as well as the other. My crate is a little uneven at the top only because of the 2 bent hooks on 2 side panels. I wouldn't buy this crate again. For the size of this crate, Frisco should package the crate better and make sure the hooks are not bent. It's a hassle to open this big box and start putting together then to pack it up again for an exchange. I bought it for my German Shepherd, it is roomy and huge, but he's comfy.
I ordered this crate after 5 on Monday. It arrived mid day on Wednesday! Easy to assemble and the space is amazing. 2 large dogs and a large child fit inside (though there will only be one large dog on a regular basis). Time will tell how it holds up but so far, I’m impressed!!
