The non-replaceable battery allows for approximately 5000 cycles equal to 9 hours of constant run time once the tab is pulled out of the toy. The battery is not replaceable.

It goes off without anyone being near it or touching it. It's nice, otherwise. But right now it's in the back of closet waiting for the battery to die out so this

It goes off without anyone being near it or touching it. It's nice, otherwise. But right now it's in the back of closet waiting for the battery to die out so this thing will hush. I would be fine if it was only noisy when someone walked by or played with it. But my cat was sleeping across the room from it and I was in the kitchen and it just randomly started going off and it would not stop. I assume it was a glitch or something, but with no off switch or an easily removed battery, I wouldn't buy this again. Maybe I'll bring it out from time to time when she's extra energized?

My 12-year-old boy Joey loves this toy! He has three other toys that make bird sounds and have catnap or similar inside, and they’re all among his favorite toys

My 12-year-old boy Joey loves this toy! He has three other toys that make bird sounds and have catnap or similar inside, and they’re all among his favorite toys. He seems to like the catnip in this one more because he rubs his face against longer. However, it’s a bit louder and slightly less realistic sounding than his other chirping toys. Almost deducted a star for that, but left it at 5 stars because that’s how Joey seems to feel it should be rated. I just try to remember to pick it up before bedtime so I won’t hear it at night.

Our Oofie took to the chirping bird right away!!! I start laughing and that seems to encourage her to play with it even more. Two months in...She still LOVES her birdie!!! Is funny because you never know where it will turn up and often, when YOU are up in the middle of the night, YOU might end up triggering that familiar, little "tweet-tweet-tweetly tweet-tweetly tweetly tweetly sound yourself. OR, if the cat happens to get the zoomies in the middle of the night, you might hear multiple rounds of that pleasantly-sounding, chirping Hummingbird. I must say it is certainly a hit in our family!!! :-)

Two of our cats really love to play with this toy. They bat it around and chase it all over the place. One likes to pick it up and carry it while meowing. Even though it’s not too loud we do pick it up at night because we have been woken up from them playing with it. It has held up well even after being stepped on.

My sweet tortie, Rosie, is crazy about this chirping hummingbird! She carriers it proudly in her mouth and tosses it in the air to play, making her own game. The bird is small and that’s perfect because Rose is a small cat. The bigger cats like the larger cardinal we ordered, but Rosie prefers her little hummingbird. The tweet is cute but we kind of wish it had “night mode” because she brings it to us while we sleep and she drops it on the bed. It’s too cute to matter. We love that our sweet Rose has a toy she enjoys. So cute. Definitely get it!
