Animal fat is a fat source that is derived from beef, pork and/or poultry. It provides both energy and essential fatty acids. All preservatives used in our products that are produced and /or sold in the U.S. are approved by the FDA for use in both human foods and pet foods. Preservatives in our pet foods are needed to help ensure quality and to maintain freshness of the product. Preservatives are listed in the ingredient statement.

From what animal is the animal fat in this product derived from?

Animal fat is an energy source derived from cattle that is used to help promote your pet’s healthy energy. To maintain freshness, Purina preserves the animal fat with mixed tocopherols, a natural form of vitamin E. It also adds a delicious taste to your pet’s food.

I actually have to put it in a container to prevent them from helping themselves to it. As far as the two cats are concerned this is a two paws up review.
