Is the long hair or short hair better for double coats?

The long hair tool is best for coats that are two inches or longer. The short hair tool is best for coats shorter than two inches.

What weight class is each size brush recommended for?

The Small tool is 1.75 inches wide and is suitable for dogs up to 20 pounds. The Medium tool is 2.65 inches wide and is suitable for dogs 21 to 50 pounds. The Large tool is 4 inches wide and is suitable for dogs 51 to 90 pounds.

how often can you brush with Furminator? and can puppies (5-month) use it?

This product is good for dogs and puppies 8 weeks or older.For best results, use the FURminator undercoat deShedding tool 1-2 times a week for 10 to 20 minutes each session, though the actual time will vary depending on your pet’s breed, the condition of their coat, and the thickness of the pet’s individual coat. It may be necessary to use the undercoat deShedding tool more frequently during heavy shedding seasons. FURminator’s grooming edge is designed to make grooming pets faster and easier while the Skinguard design eliminates digging and allows to tool to glide over most pet skin.

Worth the money!

I had refused to buy this brush for the longest time because we could buy a similar brush for 1/3 the price. I don't know why but I finally decided to cave and get

I had refused to buy this brush for the longest time because we could buy a similar brush for 1/3 the price. I don't know why but I finally decided to cave and get it. This thing works wonders! Pulled off so much more hair than other brushes AND my dogs and cat were happy to be brushed (with the cheaper versions they would run off before I was able to get much done). Wish I would have purchased this brush a long time ago!

Love this brush!

The best deshedding brush on the market. Easily brushed through my Pomeranian’s long hair and removes the hair that is falling out/shedding.

Not good for smooth collies

I’ve been told for years to get a furminator to help with my dog’s coat. This is the 4th brush I’ve tried over the years and it was the least effective. I’m sure

I’ve been told for years to get a furminator to help with my dog’s coat. This is the 4th brush I’ve tried over the years and it was the least effective. I’m sure it works for some dogs, otherwise it wouldn’t be so highly rated by so many, but I wouldn’t recommend for smooth collie owners. ACDs and corgis have a similar coat so I would assume it wouldn’t work well for those breeds either.

Zeus and Zara approve of this tool. It worked exceptionally well for both a short-haired GSD and a long-haired GSD. The tool appears to be durable, solid, and strong

Zeus and Zara approve of this tool. It worked exceptionally well for both a short-haired GSD and a long-haired GSD. The tool appears to be durable, solid, and strong. I've read reviews from five years ago mentioning that the handle was weak, but it seems like they have improved the product since then. I don't think the handle will break on this model! The tool did its job effectively. After I finished using it, both dogs turned to me and let out a sigh of relief, as if to say thank you, Papa. If you look at the pics Chewy uses for this product, watch which one you buy, the short hair and long hair have two different model numbers, but the pics look the same. Long hair works on both of my dogs.
