The amount of food your cat needs to be nourished daily depends on their activity levels and their stage of life. Generally, the more active they are (like adventurous outdoor cats) the more they’ll need to eat. Please consult your veterinarian for the best feeding regimen for your cat.
While it’s perfectly safe to stop feeding your cat’s previous food one day and introduce Fussie Cat the next, we recommend a gradual transition to Fussie Cat for up to 2 weeks. This is especially true if your cat has been previously fed a high grain, corn, wheat or soy diet. Start by introducing a small amount of Fussie Cat, increasing it daily while decreasing the previous food by the same amount. This will help avoid upset stomachs as it makes it easier for your pet’s digestive system to acclimate.
Fussie Cat recipes are based on our Meat First philosophy. Meat or fish is always the main ingredient. As cats are obligate carnivores, nothing but a Meat First recipe will provide complete, Physiologically Tuned™ nutrition for your pet.
All Fussie Cat recipes are based on our Meat First™ philosophy because cats are obligate carnivores. They require high amounts of protein to thrive, and lack the digestive enzymes to properly break down and combine incomplete plant proteins. This means they must have high-quality animal protein for optimal health.
Yes. Any unused portion must be refrigerated in a sealed container. Consider a plastic container with a tight-fitting lid. In addition, we recommend using each meal completely within 4 days of opening it. If your cat doesn’t care for cold food, let it sit at room temperature for around 30 minutes, or microwave it for 10 seconds (in a microwave safe dish, not the can), prior to feeding.
To help ensure you’re getting the freshest food for your cat, we provide both a “Production Date” and an “Expiration Date” on our packaging, located on the bottom of the can. It will read: “PRO MM/DD/YYYY, and EXP MM/DD/YYYY.” Never feed our pet food or any other brand to your cat past the expiration date.
Our recipes are vacuum sealed in our kitchen to give them a shelf life of 3 years. As with any pet food, never feed our meals to your pet past the expiration date, which is clearly marked on the bottom of the can.
The healthiest recipe in the world is useless if your cat won’t eat it. Conversely, the most delicious recipe falls short if it doesn’t provide the nutrition your cat’s biology demands. That’s why our recipes are all “Co-Created by Cats.™” We start with the Meat First™ ingredients your cat needs to thrive, then we taste test our meals with actual pets to create meals that are as delicious as they are nutritious.
No. Despite what you may have heard, cats and dogs have unique nutritional needs and should be fed meals designed specifically for their needs. Health problems may occur from not feeding your pet a complete and balanced, species appropriate diet. Check the AAFCO (Association of American Feed Control Officials) statement, or on the product packaging to determine if that recipe is appropriate for your pet’s nutritional requirements.
Because Fussie Cat® products are formulated to have similar nutrient profiles it is a great rotational diet. If your cat is sensitive to a certain recipe we recommend that you try another.
All Fussie Cat foods are made in an FDA-approved kitchen that also produces human-grade foods. We regularly inspect everything from the manufacturing process to the raw ingredients that go in our foods so you can rest assured your cat’s meals are prepared under the strictest guidelines for quality control that meets international standards.
No, and we never will. Our company was founded on the basis of providing delicious, nutritionally correct, value conscious meals for your cat. To fine-tune our recipes, we conduct trials where our food is fed to pets. This is done in a comfortable, stress-free environment for the animals.
AAFCO stands for Association of American Feed Control Officials. All Fussie Cat recipes are formulated to meet the nutritional levels established by the AAFCO for all life stages of your pet. This certifies that Fussie Cat is a nutritionally complete product that can be fed to your pet as its sole ration without adding any other substance except water. For more information on AAFCO regulations, visit aafco.org.

About Fussie Cat
Co-Created by Cats
Instead of just assuming what kind of food cats will like, Fussie Cat lets them call the shots. Each recipe is co-created and taste-tested by cats to make sure your own kitty will love it. Aside from being highly palatable, Fussie Cat wet and dry foods are full of quality meats like boneless chicken, duck, tuna, shrimp and prawns to make sure your little carnivore is getting the protein-rich, feline-appropriate diet she needs.
Made for Meat Lovers
If there's one thing cats crave, it's the rich taste of pure meat. It makes sense, because they're obligate carnivores. Your four-legged friend probably lets you know exactly what she likes, and it's sure to be fish, poultry or meat. Fussie Cat has farm-raised poultry, ocean fish from the South Pacific, and a whole range of interesting seafood options like Threadfin Bream, smoked tuna, mussels, clams and anchovies.
Physiologically Correct Diets
Knowing that cats need meat protein to survive, Fussie Cat developed formulas that they call Physiologically Correct. As true carnivores, their bodies are extremely efficient in processing meat, so 20% of their diet should come from animal proteins. Fussie Cat's foods start with meat, are low in carbs and include a complete spectrum of essential vitamins and minerals. You can be sure your kitty's getting all the necessary amino acids, protein and other nutrients.
Kitty's Choice
With two canned food lines and several tempting dry food options, your cat can always have the dinner she prefers. Fussie Cat Premium is a tuna-based menu that pairs this popular fish with chicken or seafood delicacies. Super Premium is made for chicken lovers with boneless chicken, low sodium levels and plenty of omegas. Market Fresh dry foods are crunchy and delicious, with proteins full of vitamin B12, and antioxidant-rich cranberries and blueberries.
Outstanding Quality Control
Fussie Cat makes their top-quality foods in an FDA-registered kitchen—the same kitchen that produces canned food that's fit for people to eat. Thorough quality inspections are conducted daily for food safety, heavy metals, pathogens, contamination and pesticides, so the end product is everything that you should expect it to be.
About Fussie Cat

This food looks OK to me, and the quality seems fine. However the kitty that I bought this for takes one whiff and walks away. Some of my other cats will eat it... with varying levels of enthusiasm, but no one seems to love it! In fact, none of the cats seem to like it even as well as much cheaper store brand canned food offerings! Quality can be wonderful, but that doesn't make much difference if the cat won't eat it. What a huge disappointment. I've tried the Chicken, Shrimp, and Salmon Fussy Cat with not one bite taken by my fussy cat! I have yet to try the Anchovy. I wish they would offer a variety case so people with fussy cats like mine could try all the potential flavors without having to buy a full case of each. These were a huge waste of money for me since the cat in need won't touch the food. My other cats will eventually eat it up, but it's way too expensive on my budget for my cats that aren't all that finicky... I was willing to pay the price because I had high hopes this would be an answer for my choosy old kitty who needs to eat more and gain some weight.
I have 8 cats of varying sizes and ages. I buy all brands of cat food-Fancy Feast, Friskies, Proplan,Tiki, and each cat has his "opinion" on each brand. Some will eat one brand and not another. But NONE of the 8 refuses to eat Fussie Cat - any kind, any variety....Fussie Cat is THE favorite in my household...since it's a little pricey, I supplement with other brands. But they would eat only this if I let them. Love this stuff
I have 5 cats and ALL of them love this food- 3 of them are picky as all get out (typical) but they always eat their FussieCat up … pricey yes, but worth it as it doesn’t get wasted… I do buy other foods (Weruva and Wellness) and try to switch it up so that they aren’t eating tuna every day as I have read that it’s not good EVERY DAY , especially for male cats, and two of them will eat the FussieCat chicken only dish… but man that one is super expensive, “super premium” but my babies are so worth it… I am a true definition of that saying, I work hard so my cats can have a better life, a.k.a., eat better!!
I discovered this Fussie Cat food (Tuna With Chicken Formula) early this year as a treat for 4 of my 6 cats' birthdays. They absolutely loved it and it quickly became their favorite wet food. I ordered it often through both Chewy and another competitor. Recently, I discovered that my cats were'nt very interested in it anymore, and I soon discovered the reason: Fussie cat apparently changed their recipe. The food used to come pretty much 1/2 and 1/2 tuna and chicken. It still comes that way, but their recipe now comes (the tuna portion) with a very dark meat/skin? portion added which none of my 6 cats will even touch/eat. I am very disappointed with this new formulation because my cats used to eat it all. Now, unless I pick out the dark (almost dark blood colored) meat, they will not touch it or eat it. This is not acceptable to me (let alone the cats) as this is a "high end/cost" food. I wish Fussie Cat had not changed their recipe, as I had not found any other wet food that all of my cats would eat. All of the new cans of Fussie Cat Tuna With Chicken Formula that I received in my last order contained at least 1/4 of the "meat" of the dark colored variety that I had to separate and throw away, since the cats wouldn't eat it if it was even mixed together. I don't mind paying extra for food that all my cats love, but this is a real disappointment now. I would not recommend this formula of Fussie Cat.
I ordered two new brands of wet food including fussie cat and tiki cat. Cats wouldn’t touch the tiki cat but screamed like canaries for this canned food. Very posh and spoiled but I love them and will continue to buy this
My old cat will eat this on days when she isn't eating much. I'll be getting more of it. However, because she's old with dental issues I have to further grind up the flakes in my mini processor to give it to her. She will always eat it.
This food claims cats will love it . I have three cats. One of them took a bite and walked away. It’s not a pate, it’s a dried out flake of over cooked meat that maybe I could see a dog eat. Most expensive waste of money! Now I have to search for another kind and pray it’s not as bad. I can see one cat not liking something but all three says a lot.I’ll spend the next three days hoping I can get them to eat some if not time to donate
My cat is a very picky eater. This is the first food I am not wasting money on. He eats it all.
This is THE best cat food, evidenced by the fact that ALL my cats eat it to the last drop, always. I only wish the price were more reasonable. It’s the ONLY food I can count on that makes my cats full and happy. The small can is packed very densely and I can manage to split it three ways, but they’re still all hungry afterwards. And then I give them something slightly less expensive and they don’t finish it. I wish I could buy it wholesale. I’d use two cans a day and buy a couple of hundred cans.
My two very awesome male cats love Fussie Cat and eat a can every morning...various flavors as well. Chicken is a favorite and they seem to enjoy it big time. The only problem I have with this brand is the cost. Lately its thru the roof and I might have to find something else to serve my babies. Its gotten ridiculously expensive. Thanks!
