Can this moss be grown, or is it preserved/dead moss?

The Galapagos mosses are preserved or dead mosses. They technically can be brought back to life but it requires very specific parameters.

Can this moss be use in a hamsters enclosure?

This terrarium moss is designed for reptiles, amphibians and invertebrates. It is not recommended for hamsters.
