The substrate is similar to chips, with the pieces ranging from 1/2" inch to 3/4" inch in size. The substrate is recommended for burrowing or digging animals.

Way larger pieces than expected

I thought this was similar to the repti bark I usually get. This is way larger chunks. I ended up mixing it with reptibark and it worked ok.

Not fine material, "chunky"

This is not broken down into a more fine granule. It has a lot of clumps and isn't broken down. I was thinking it would be more fine like dirt or sand.

Confession: I don't have a reptile. But I do need coco husk to add to a soil mix when I repot certain plants. This stuff is already prewashed to remove any extra

DO NOT BUY IT

This product is NOT SAFE for your reptiles and snakes. Not only was there mold growing in the substrate BEFORE I EVEN OPENED IT but there was a CIGARETTE BUD IN

This product is NOT SAFE for your reptiles and snakes. Not only was there mold growing in the substrate BEFORE I EVEN OPENED IT but there was a CIGARETTE BUD IN IT. Absolutely NOT okay. This is seriously such a horrible health risk to both animals and people. If I couldn’t figure out how to get a refund I would but this app is impossible.
