How big of a tank does one brick cover?

Answer by ChewyMar 15, 2024
One brick may yield 2 to 3 inches of substrate in a 10 gallon tank or maybe 1 inch in a 20 gallon tank. It will depend on the depth of substrate you prefer as to how big a tank one brick will cover.

How many bricks do i need for a 40 gallon tank

Answer by EuniqueAug 04, 2023
I used 1 for my 20 so I'd say 2 is good for a 40

When you store leftover does it stay good until you use it in the habitat or does it go bad? How long until the leftover are no longer useable?

Answer by ChewyOct 31, 2018
Any unused Eco Earth can be stored away wrapped up in a cool, dry place away from the outside to prevent critters from going into the compressed substrate. As long as it's stored properly to prevent from drying up, there is no expiration for the substrate.

Is this product organic? Is it treated with any chemicals, pesticides etc?

Answer by ChewyJan 27, 2021
The Eco Earth is an all-natural product. It is ground up and then composted for two years. It is not treated with any chemicals or pesticides.

Absolutely love coconut fiber for my two boas! They were using a cypress mulch before but seem much happier with this stuff. I love the compressed fiber because

The amount in such small bricks

Love this substrate for my geckos and it holds the right amount of water to make their sheds as easy as cake.

Other usage

I’m using this as substrate for cat grass, because I don’t trust anything else that may get into my cats mouth. And I was actually surprised at how big the bricks

I’m using this as substrate for cat grass, because I don’t trust anything else that may get into my cats mouth. And I was actually surprised at how big the bricks are for the price. Now I won’t know if this will work for it because I just sown the grass seeds today. But I’m pretty sure in theory it will because of it being made up of coconut fibers

It does what it says.

Good item but I would use less water than it says because mine was soaked after using recommended amount per block. I am still gonna buy more though.
