This can be added to kale for a tortoise. It's recommended to add 1/2 teaspoon Repti Calcium to food for every 5 oz (142 g) of body weight on a weekly basis.

I've been using this calcium supplement for years for my pet tortoises with very good results (bone and shell growth). I like to use the Calcium with D3 to ensure absorption. If you animals have consistent UV exposure than you may consider the version without the D3. I simply sprinkle this on moistened lettuce or tortoise chow about 2 -3 times per week.

I have a Sulcata Tortoise and this is the only calcium he will touch. I've tried others and he will just avoid anything it's on, even strawberries, which are his favorite. I can dip a strawberry in this and he will chow down. Calcium with D3 is very important for captive kept reptiles of any kind, my 12 yr old tortoise is no exception even though his 80 pound self lives outside.

My baby red-eared slider had a slightly raised edge on its shell, so I started a shell recovery routine: limited feeding, daily sunbathing, and calcium powder. I dampen the powder and coat baby turtle pellets with it, since my turtle only eats in water. Some powder dissolves, but some stays on the food and gets eaten. I'm happy with this product. My turtle gets some calcium every day, and it's now part of our regular care routine.
