Help your dog maintain good body condition by monitoring food intake, providing exercise and visiting your veterinarian on a regular basis. Please adjust your dog’s feeding amount using the chart as a guide. The amount will vary by age, activity level, environment and breed. Always have a clean bowl of fresh water available for your dog.
Gradually transition your pet to any new food over the course of 7-14 days to help avoid the digestive upset that abrupt changes in diet can cause. If your pet tends to be on the sensitive side, it may be best to take a little extra time. 1. Start by feeding your pet a mix of 25% new food and 75% old food for the first few days. 2. Then, increase the amount of new food to about 50% and feed that half-and-half mix for a few days. 3. Proceed to feeding 75% new food/25% old food for the next few days. 4. Complete the transition by feeding just the new food on its own.

I have two black mouth curr's. One is under a year, ans one is 5 years. Its cheaper to buy this as Its for ALL life stages, and my dogs love it. Not to mention how good this is for them. I buy the 30 lb. bag. I just wish it wasnt so expensive! It wouldnt be so bad, but If I only buy the one 30 lb. bag, then I have to pay shipping, and that blows. Unfortunately the only place that I can even find it is with Chewy. But... Im thankful that they carry it.
This food came recommended by my step bro so I gave it a try since its a good value. So far he loves it. I like that the kibble is a bit bigger, so he actually doesnt inhale quite as fast. My only disappointment was the delivery speed. I ordered 2 bags of food and bird feed. This bag and bird feed were delayed. Thankfully I only needed the bag that arrived, but would have been an inconvenience otherwise. Last, not being able to properly use grammar with apostrophes in the review is annoying. Especially when you say an apostrophe is an emoji.
First time customer to the brand. I bought 2 bags a few months back. My dog absolutely loved the first bag of food with no issues. It was his favorite brand of dog food right away. Cut to this week: we opened the second bag of dog food and gave him a total of 3 feedings in 30 hours or so. He has had non-stop diarrhea for 2 days now. I'm losing a ton of sleep and have had to deeply wipe his very furry butt 8-10 times a day (Will be giving him a bath once he's done having diarrhea). This food was the only thing new he has had to eat this month and the previous bag was fine. So either this was a spoiled batch of food, or the food isn't meant to last more than 3 months in a sealed bag. Either way, this is not a sign of a good brand to not be consistent in manufacturing.
This food seemed too good to be true. Something I could feed my 3 large breed pit mixes and my small chiweenie?? Yes, please! … Until all of my dogs had stinky farts and loose stools, then one of my dogs started having really bad allergic reactions to the food, lethargy, inflamed skin and reduced activities. Within an hour of her eating all of this would happen, then she would just sleep and seem so uncomfortable for a few hours. And then she would be more like herself through the afternoon until after she had her dinner. And the same process would repeat. I finally began to suspect the food and gave her Benadryl to see if it was allergies. She was up and playing again within 30 minutes and her skin undertones went from hot pink to the faintest whitish-pink (which is her normal and healthy skin). I went to the store and found a new food to give her for dinner that night and she has been fine since. And no more runny poops for the other pups. Would not recommend unless your dog has intestines of steel and no history of allergies.
Dogs ate it well, but after a month or so their skin & fur dried out. My lab/collie started losing his fur. At first I didn't think it was the food, so they ate it another month. It got worse. I started them on different food & it took time but they got better. So it was the food- nothing else had changed.
Yadi loves this food! I had never heard of Gentle Giants before. It was recommended to me when I was looking for a new food. Yadi is a 4 year old picky German Shepherd. He loves this food! I love that it's Non GMO. We both highly recommend it.
My dogs have been eating this food with gusto. It's been hard to find a single brand and food for both my large German Shepherd and medium size mixed Shepherd. They have different size kibble requirements, flavor, and kibble density. One doesn't like too hard of kibble and this seems to be what she highly prefers over about 4 other brands. Finally i don't have to buy 2 different brands/sizes and the price is very reasonable for the quality of food I'm getting them. The bag is design is a bit intense to look at and I'm not sure I actually read everything it says but overall the quality if food is what's important.
I tried them all and spent a lot of money and a friend told me about gentle giant so I decided to try it since the ingredients were what I was looking for and the longevity it adds to my fur babies lives is amazing. My 3 dogs love this food made by the original Robin Burt Ward from the Batman series . His family has devoted their lives making pet foods to that Literally extend the life of your pet and all profits go to charity . I could go on and on about what this dog food has done to make my labs more healthy already . Great buy Fantastic product !!
I really wanted to like this dog food. I ended up making the switch from Kirkland dog food to Gentle Giant because I read the reviews and they sounded great. Unfortunately this product did not do well with my dobbies. I have two Dobermans one male one female and a Dachshund beagle mix that I ended up switching to gentle giant. After 3 months I noticed that both of my dobbie would have really horrible gas. I stuck it out for another 3 months even adding gas pills that made it worse and started causing diarrhea. I just couldn't take his horrible gas and accidents any longer and had to cut out this food from his diet and switch to something else. As soon as I cut this food out their gas stopped almost immediately. I still continue to buy it for my Dachshund beagle since I don't really want to make another switch messing up her stomach from another switch. She seems to like it fine although she has an iron stomach and is a glutton that would eat anything. I most recently fostered a Pitbull that I'm feeding this food to and he seems to be doing well with it though.
Two English Mastiffs, a Husky & shepherd mix. All but the husky(picky eater)love this food. I love the ingredients and great reviews. However, been feeding them this for almost a year and their stools are much runnier and have horrible gas farts. I kept feeding hoping they were just getting used to it. Even did the slow introduction with mixing from previous food. But now to only gentle giants kibble and nothing has changed. :( I may just have sensitive bellies here. I believe it’s a great brand otherwise!
