FAQ

Are the ingredients used in this product “human-grade”?

All of our fresh meat and meat meal ingredients are sourced from animals passed fit for human consumption by the CFIA. The fruits and vegetables used in our recipes also come from the human food chain. We do not, however, claim that our ingredients are “human-grade”; once an individual ingredient leaves a “human-grade” processing facility and enters a “pet food” processor, the ingredient loses its “human-grade” classification.

Where is this product made?

Go! dry pet foods are produced in Ontario, Canada. We are 100% China free for processing and ingredient sourcing. None of our meat proteins, grains, cereals, fruits and vegetables in any of our recipes are processed in China, and none of our ingredients are sourced in China.

Is your food baked or extruded?

Our goal is to maintain the nutritional integrity of the ingredients we use in our recipes and so we extrude our foods at temperatures which are lower than typical baking. The end result; a nutrient-rich, highly digestible product for pets.

Sometimes the color and shape of the kibbles can vary. Why?

At Petcurean, we formulate our recipes using real food ingredients, and like real food that Mother Nature provides, the color and texture of the ingredients going into our recipes varies. For example; Meat supply will vary between different suppliers and batches (e.g. dark meat vs. white meat). Also, diets with a higher meat content are denser and sometimes more difficult to extrude (versus cereal or grains) which leads to variance in the kibble shape. Oils, as they are applied, either outside of or inside the kibble, can affect the color and the density (size) of the kibble. Oils also play a significant role in the palatability of the food. Finally, Petcurean does not use any artificial colors, flavors or preservatives, which also contributes to variances of the color and texture.

What is the shelf life of Go! dry cat food?

Our dry foods have a shelf life of 16 months.

    Not Limited Ingredient

By Naee on Feb 18, 2021

This claims to be limited-ingredient, so I—naively—assumed this food's animal products would be sourced from a single animal, when in reality this DUCK product contains CHICKEN fat. It claims to be a duck recipe for cats with food sensitivities yet contains additional allergens that would harm a cat has sensitivities to chicken. I am very disappointed in this product. It should say Duck+Chicken Recipe on the front, clearly.

Appreciate the product but cats wouldn't eat it

    By cmo6 on Jan 30, 2021 Top 500 Contributor

Bought for my cat Gus who was diagnosed with IBD and seems bored with his prescription diet. He sniffed but wouldn't eat any. The other five cats, not on special diets, likewise refused to taste it. Not sure why. I will keep looking for single-, novel proteins for Gus.

    Half and Half

By catwoman on Feb 4, 2021

I have 2 cats and my Siamese has a very sensitive stomach, throwing up frequently. My one cat loved this food, whereas the Siamese (who I bought it for in the first place) wouldn't touch it.

Healthy and something they will usually eat...

    By Jordan733 on Dec 4, 2020

Healthy and something they will usually eat even as spoiled as these three are! I notice that there's less 'waste' in the litter box when I can encourage them to eat healthier foods. The thing is, they are pretty much unhealth-food junkies. I picture them hanging at the fast-food restaurants if we'd let them out! Still, as far as healthier foods go, they WILL eat this one. Geeez, cats can be jerks sometimes.

    Hallelujah

By Cherie on Sep 12, 2020

I have 2 cats about 9 months old. One would vomit almost daily immediately after eating and I tried several foods that were free of bad ingredients And the other could clear the house when he used the litter because the smell was so bad. My stinky boy started to vomit on occasion which led me to believe that the food was just not working with them and I had to find something different again. Thanks to others reviews I decided to give this food a try. Hallelujah, about 3 weeks in I have only had one vomit issue and now you don’t even know when they use the litter! They really like the food too. Would recommend giving it a try if you get vomit and stinky poo.

    Cats like it

By Trace on Aug 12, 2020

Good quality food. The cats like it. They are IB cats, and the only food they could somewhat tolerate isnt being made anymore. Poops are firming up some, and not smelling to high heavens. I would have given it 5 stars , but the eggs make it a double protein. One of my boys has a chicken issue. They both have a fish oil issue, which knocks out all the other duck limited ingredient foods. So, this is the food until someone makes a real single protein food with duck as the meat.

    Quality Product from Petcurean

By catlover on Aug 8, 2020 Top 1000 Contributor

Out of two cats, only 1 will eat it. That doesn’t mean the food is no good, just picky cat. This food isn’t sprayed with animal digest like so many other dry foods and I think that’s why it’s not as enticing. But the ingredients are great with duck and duck meal being the first two. Much better than Natural Balance that starts with pea protein and has plenty more in the formula.

    Great product!

By GoneHulkin on Jul 29, 2020

I have a foster that has a severe allergy to food, causing her to lose her hair. I bought this as soon as the vet said it is food related. She loves the food and is always happy when she heard me get the bag. I am a huge fan of the packaging, as it is easy to pour and reseal the bag. Bought the matching wet food and she loves it as well.

    My Cat Loves It!!

    By cats32669 on Jun 20, 2020

My cat had been having issues with the normal brand of food I was using...she would eat and then almost immediately vomit. It got to the point where she started eating less and lost weight. I switched to Go! Sensitivities, and she has started eating regularly again with no vomitting. I highly recommend.

    So far so good

    By MKG1 on Jun 21, 2020

One of my three cats has a very sensitive stomach and because of it I have had them all on a very expensive prescription dry food for several years. I decided to try something new and thankfully he is liking it and his episodes seem to be less. My other two cats like it too.
