The amount of food your dog needs will vary depending on breed, activity level, age and climate. Use our feeding chart as a guide, adjusting the quantity fed to achieve your dog’s ideal weight. We suggest feeding twice a day. Provide fresh, clean water at all times. Regular exercise will help maintain a healthy body weight. Love, attention and tummy rubs should be given freely, as often as possible.

Transition Instructions

It’s important to slowly transition your pet to a new food so their system has a chance to adapt to the change. The transition period should be at minimum, 10 days and could take upwards of 2 weeks, depending on your pet’s sensitivity to change. On day one, introduce 10% new food / 90% old food. Keep the food at this ratio for 2 or more days. Next, increase the ratio to 20% new food / 80% old food for 2 or more days. Repeat increasing in increments of 10% until you’re feeding 100% of the new food. If your pet experiences any kind of digestive upset during this time, try slowing down the process to let his/her digestive tract adjust to the new food. Some vomiting and/or diarrhea can be normal when introducing new foods as the digestive process and the naturally occurring bacteria your pet’s body requires is a complex and delicate system. If you experience any vomiting and/or diarrhea, be sure to reduce the amount of new food the next time you feed and overall, slow the whole transition period down even more.

I followed the feeding guidelines on your packaging, but my pet is too fat/thin. Why?

Feeding Guidelines are simply a place to start. You should increase or decrease the amount you feed based on your pet’s activity level and weight.

Are the ingredients used in Petcurean products “human-grade”?

All of our fresh meat and meat meal ingredients are sourced from animals passed fit for human consumption by the CFIA. The fruits and vegetables used in our recipes also come from the human food chain. We do not, however, claim that our ingredients are “human-grade”; once an individual ingredient leaves a “human-grade” processing facility and enters a “pet food” processor, the ingredient loses its “human-grade” classification.

What is an organic ingredient?

A certified organic ingredient provides a guarantee that the ingredient has met strict government standards for how food is grown, handled and processed; using organic agricultural methods. Organic agriculture focuses on farming practices that encourage soil and water conservation and regeneration, and reduces pollution. Organic farmers use natural fertilizers and pest control methods to benefit the soil, plants and animals for a healthy environment.

Where are your products made?

Petcurean dry pet foods are produced in Ontario, Canada. Our canned products are primarily produced in Ontario, Canada and secondarily at a plant in New Jersey, USA. Our SPIKE Jerky Treats are manufactured in Gainsville, Georgia and our SPIKE Treat Bars are made in Brampton, Ontario. All of the meat proteins, grains, cereals, fruits and vegetables in our GO! SOLUTIONS™, NOW FRESH™ and GATHER™ products are sourced from North America (as close to the production facility as possible)

WHY RUIN YOUR FOOD WITH PEAS LENTYLS

    By Maddvik8ng on Jan 31, 2021

I REALLY DO NOT UNDERSTAND WHY A FOOD THAT STARTS OUT GREAT 6 MEAT SOURCES IN A ROW, THEN PUTS JUNK LIKE PEAS LENTYLS AND POTATOES IN IT, WHY? AND THEY WONT GIVE YOU THE PROTIEN PERCENTAGE FROM ANIMAL OR MEAT SOURCES, WHY? WHY NOT MAKE A GRAIN INCLUSIVE FOOD WITH THE EXACT 6 MEAT INGREDIANTS AT BEGINNING, THEN MAYBE WE COULD FEEL SAFE BUYING IT, AS OF NOW I THINK THEY BACK LOAD IT WITH PEA LENTYL PROTIEN, BE HONEST OTHER COMPANYS LIST THE PROTIEN PERCENTAGE FROM ANIMAL SOURCES

    Best dog food ever

By Absolucik on May 31, 2020

My little papillon is very picky with his food. Especially at his young age of 14, yet he truly enjoys his food. The texture is perfect for his age worn down teeth. The kibble is just the right size fir him and he gladly eats his dinner every day.

    White flecks and bugs

By Suzanne on Mar 8, 2020

I got a bag of this from my local pet store. The kibble looked like it had white flecks of paper or something embedded into some of the pieces. I kept it in an air tight container in the house (not garage!) and after a few weeks it had baby beetles in it. I have my house sprayed by a commercial company every 3 months, so I know it's not my house and the beetles were coming from within the container of dog food! I threw it out and switched brands. No way I'm feeding that to my pup!

    Glad I switched

By Barbara on Aug 12, 2019

Had to change my dog from Science Diet which I have feed all of my dogs over the last 30 years. Patti started to show no interest in it and I had read that they did some changes (that I believe). Just smell it and you will know why the dogs don't care for it anymore. After reading the reviews on Go I changed and so glad I did. Now Pattie is waiting for her meals and her coat and stools are just what a dog owner looks for.Cost a little more but worth it.
