I absolutely recommend HALO Holistic Complete Digestive Health Grain-Free Chicken & Sweet Potato Senior Dry. It checks nearly all my boxes: digestibility, top-tier ingredients, joint support, flavor, and overall senior wellness. My senior dogs are enjoying this food. The price is on the higher end, but totally worth it. I have been slowly adding it into their old food and I can see the difference in their poop already! Five stars, no doubts.

Poor Nutrients for Seniors

For the price of this bag this needs perfection which it is not. Senior dogs should have; Protein: 15-23 % Calcium: 0.25-0.75 % Phosphorus: 0.3-0.7% Sodium: 0.15-0.35

For the price of this bag this needs perfection which it is not. Senior dogs should have; Protein: 15-23 % Calcium: 0.25-0.75 % Phosphorus: 0.3-0.7% Sodium: 0.15-0.35 % Fat: 7-15 % Fiber: >2 % All on a Dry Matter Basis which isn’t even available. Also calcium and phosphorus isn’t available both of those are much harder ranges to meet. But Protein alone is a no go for this product.

I Was Hoping

My 15 year old Bichon refuses to eat HALO Holistic Complete Digestive Health Grain-Free Chicken & Sweet Potato Recipe Senior Dry Dog Food. We've tried mixing it

My 15 year old Bichon refuses to eat HALO Holistic Complete Digestive Health Grain-Free Chicken & Sweet Potato Recipe Senior Dry Dog Food. We've tried mixing it in with his regular TruDog/Halo freeze dried food to help him gain a few pounds without increasing his protein levels. So, we can't add any of the Holistic or he refuses to eat. Sadly, I must rate it 1 star based on our experience. Hopefully, it's the dry dog food that he just doesn't like and not another issue going on with him.
