Pets with sensitive stomachs may need to transition a little more slowly to avoid any digestive upset. If you introduce the new food too quickly and your cat or dog experiences some digestive upset, just back up to the previous transition amount where your pet wasn’t having any trouble and feed that amount for a few more days before continuing with the transition. Once your pet is eating all Halo food, if you switch between Halo recipes, consider a 2- or 3-day transition to minimize stomach upset.

Holistic. Whole. Humane.
When pet parents want to give their pets a holistic food that's made with pure, natural, whole ingredients, they choose Halo. Their recipes use responsibly sourced whole meats and non-GMO vegetables, and never any meat meals, animal by-products or added growth hormones. It's exactly what nature intended—highly digestible ingredients that are slow-cooked in small batches to create cat food with less ash, more bioavailable nutrients and delicious flavor.
Super Digestibility
Halo believes that whole meat equals a whole lot more digestibility. As obligate carnivores, cats need meat, not just parts of animals that you wouldn't consider to be meat. When your pet gets whole proteins instead of rendered meats like chicken meal or fish meal, they're getting optimum nutrition that's easier for their body to digest. And that means they can get the full benefits of each nutrient-rich ingredient.
What's in Your Cat's Bowl?
With Halo, you won't see a "meat meal" hiding anywhere in the ingredients, and there's no corn, wheat, wheat gluten, rice or artificial colors, preservatives or flavors. Here's what you will find:
Holistic Whole Protein: Salmon, whitefish, chicken or turkey that's slow-cooked provides a more digestible source of protein with up to 16 times less ash than rendered meat.
Humanely Sourced: Cage-free poultry raised without antibiotics, pasture raised beef from farms that raise animals naturally and wild caught fish from sustainable fisheries.
Non-GMO Produce: Fruits and vegetables from farms that refuse to use genetically modified seeds that rely heavily on chemical fertilizers and herbicides to produce crops.

The Proof Is in the Poop
Because each recipe is made with whole meat, it’s easier for your cat to digest. With Halo, more of the nutrients stay in and go to use inside your cat’s body, so less is likely to come out as waste. Since less is coming out as waste, your cat is utilizing more of the nutrients in Halo cat food.
DreamCoat for a Shiny Coat
The difference Halo makes isn't just on the inside—it shows through in the coat, too. Their exclusive DreamCoat blend is added to dry food formulas to help keep your cat's skin smooth and coat shiny. This combination of botanicals and other ingredients provides balanced essential fatty acids for ongoing skin and coat support.

Halo says NO to:
- Meat meal (rendered meat)
- Animal by-products
- Animals raised with antibiotics
- Corn, wheat, wheat gluten and rice
- Artificial colors, preservatives and flavors
- Compromises and shortcuts
Halo says YES to:
- Whole meat that's responsibly sourced
- Highly digestible whole proteins
- Animals raised as nature intended
- Fruits and vegetables rich in vitamins and minerals
- Holistic, natural ingredients
- Donating to shelters
- Less ash and more bioavailable nutrition

Really Made A Difference!
By CeCesMom on Feb 26, 2021
My cat has had runny poops ever since I got her from the shelter three years ago. I have always had her on high quality food, and have tried different brands of limited ingredient. Nothing seemed to work. I even took her to the vet to see if she had a parasite. Thankfully she didn't. The vet recommended feeding her pumpkin, but that didn't seem to work either. I finally tried this food and wow. Her poops are not 100% normal, but she "goes" much less and they are starting to become more solid. Most importantly, we can tell she is feeling better. We first noticed that she was much more playful and active--really attacking her toy mouse. Not fun clean up for me, but it makes me feel good to know my cat is feeling better. I am going to switch her to this brand's wet food now too and see if she feels even better. … more

The proof is in the poop
By Robyn on Jan 20, 2021
I’ve used halo for the past four years and won’t go back to blue Buffalo unless I had no choice. I recently switched to the seafood because one of my cats has a sensitive stomach and was throwing up a couple times a week. whatever the case, I learned chicken is actually one of the top allergens for cats and dogs and causes upset tummy a lot. Since I switched to the seafood medley a few months ago, she’s been sick maybe once? And that was definitely from over indulging after the feeder had been empty for a second too long and I’m sure she thought she might starve lol! Their poos are literally perfect (as perfect as cat poo can get lol) but this is definitely a win for us. The girls love it.

They LOVED it!
By JayDub on Jan 13, 2021
I have two sibling cats, 3 years old, and one was spitting up his food on occasion, but was otherwise perfectly fine. I decided to try this food, and am very happy I did! Both cats love it, they even broke into the bag during the night, something they have never done! They badger me to feed them, even if they were recently fed. The best part is - no more spitting up! I have never seen any cat like a food as much as mine like this one.

Open litter box
By Patricia on Jan 4, 2021
Everything was delivered on time but....one of the litter boxes was open and spilled litter over everything else. I do not expect and consideration for this. I just hope it doesn't happen again

Since I’ve been feeding my kitties Halo Holistic Seafood Medley for sensitive stomachs, they have not vomited in my house. I’ve tried others, but this is the only thing that works!

I have fed my kitties Halo food for years. I have a couple that do have sensitive tummies and they have not had any issues since we switched.

no issues with this

We have tried dozenssss of brands & food type and our runny to loose potty cat is doing much better on this food, still mash taters looking with some form but, no watery since slowly switched him to this food about a month ago. currently having 10 cats and wanting to simplify things, i decided to switch everyone else (except 2 cats who have special diets) to this food since their focus sensitive brand hasn’t been good for their skin in last couple months (many have flaky skin), they all too took to it, some took a little longer and would leave kibbles in their bowl but, within a week, they started eating all their portions (4 times a day). Their skin/fur are looking much healthier now!! To my surprise, our kibble hater (white kitty in pic) who has only approved of one kibble type & brand (purina focus) in his 3yr+ life span, is also eating this!! so now a month later, 8 cats only eat this for their dry food.. The only issue is there was a big increase in hairballs the first couple weeks with cats that normally don’t have them and their #2’s have looked discolored, wetter and slightly stinkier. seems some adjustment time is needed with this food, its like its cleaning out the yuckiness in our cats system or something.. most are good now. … more

A real weight control alt for the expensive Vet food version.
By MoniqueP on Aug 26, 2020
A real weight control alt for the expensive Vet food version. I would gladly leave my oldest cat on the Vet food but my middle fur-baby keeps gobbling 2/3 of it up and has become over weight! I've asked the vet and they have no options for me. Since i have been slowly mixing this food in over the last few weeks and walking around the yard with my cats for a small amount of exercise, he has lost 1 lb already! Woot!

Tummy problems
By Bonzi on Sep 5, 2020
When I was looking for a new cat food I couldn’t get my regular food as they were out of stock so I went to Halo. both my cats seem to be doing well with it but time will tail. They seem to want to eat it more than the other one, and they won’t eat unless it’s cold. Service of delivery was excellent as usual.

My cat likes this brand - no small feat!
By Patti on Sep 1, 2020
I had to try SO many brands of cat food for cat's with sensitive stomachs before I could find one that he actually likes and will eat. He also likes Halo's canned food for cat's with sensitive stomachs, which is a bonus, and he doesn't throw up either one. The ingredients seem healthy as well. Glad I found Halo!
