Questions & Answers

30 Customer Questions

Can you feed it in dry form or should you add water and why add water
Answer by ChewyDec 14, 2017
Freeze-Dried recipes remove only water, preserving the characteristics and natural nutrition of fresh real food. The formulas lack moisture and adding water gives your pet the moisture they need. If your dog eats this without the water, it will absorb the moisture in their body, leading to dehydration.

How much do I feed a 60 pound shephard mixture?
Answer by ChewyAug 29, 2018
For a pet weighing 60 pounds the general recommendation to maintain weight would be to feed 3 and 2/3 cups daily. Attached is the general feeding recommendations for pets over 40 pounds.

Is your dog food organic? non gmo?
Answer by ChewyApr 21, 2018
TruDog foods are Non-GMO and considered organic.

Is this considered a balanced diet? I hear so much about feeding raw and adding fruits & veg. My dog eats it for the time being. She is extremely picky and will eat this for her late meal.
Answer by ChewyOct 09, 2019
FEED ME beef meets AAFCO guidelines as a nutritionally complete meal for dogs, and complies with an Alpha Prey Model diet and a Biologically Appropriate Raw Foods Diet for dogs.

No expiration date

It is not acceptable to not have an expiration date. It seemed the ingredients were good , but did not want to chance giving it to my dogs. I have found this has happened more and more during the pandemic. Wasted money

To expensive

My two dogs love the taste. The food is so expensive only a pet owner with a tiny dog could afford to find it.

Good Stuff!

I buy this product for all which is NOT in it. When offered, my 15 rescues do not hesitate so, I’d say they love TRUDOG Feed Me Freeze-Dried Superfood. I don’t feed as a meal. Primary use is a training treat and a “thank you-good Baby” treat at the completion of and upon arriving home from Vet appointments, nail trimmings, haircuts and any behavior and attitude which should receive positive recognition.

Yummy stuff

My dogs, once again, are excited about eating dog food! One even spins as I set her bowl down. They love it, I love it cause it doesn’t stink. We are all happy for now. I just haven’t told them I can’t afford it. I use it as a topper. I know they pick the nuggets out first.

Phenomenal food but too expensive

I have never seen my dogs going so crazy over food!! Not even for a fresh raw steak! I mean they love it! However their happiness was shortlisted :( Each bag has 14 oz for about $35 bucks or so that is not even a pound of dog food. Feeding instruction recommends to fee 2.4 cups to a 40lbs dog per day but the biggest bag they have at whooping 35ish bucks only has 1.75 cups!? So basically I need 2 bags per day if my dogs weighs 40lbs which equals roughly 70 bucks. I did get 25% off so only paid 50ish for both bags. But still my two puppies that are growing and now at 5 and 7 month weigh about 60 and 80lbs so they finished both bags in one day... imagine their disappointment tomorrow when they will go back to kibble lol poor babies. This is some serious high quality food geared for the upscale customer not for the average joe that still wants to feed the dog quality. I’ll stick to high quality kibble and once in a while I do raw as a treat. I really wish that they made bigger bags a little bit more affordable. Perhaps they should add some pumpkin, apples, blueberries, spinach, sweet palrareis etc... just as an example ao this way the cost would come down a little and still providing quality. Cudos to the makers for creating such an amazing food, honestly I think that it may be the best out there. So either you are rich or have really small dogs otherwise dog food would be really expensive. When I hit the lotto I will come back until then please think about my ideia :) Thank you!!!

Love but super expensive

We love trudog. It’s the only food my dogs thrive on. Prob is with 3 dogs 2 weighing in at 50 lbs and one who’s only a pup and will get there is over $800 in dog food a month! That’s nuts. I keep trying to find a brand that we like as much but can’t. Wish like others they would make a bigger bag that was more cost efficient for ppl like me
