Not the same; ill-fitting, uncomfortable, and poor design
I LOVED Halti head collars for training dogs to not pull, but they've "improved" the design into uselessness. My new dog fits in my old, original Large size, but it's starting to fray and I want a backup. The new version of the "original" Halti has the pieces coming up from the leash clip wrapped back through in a loop under the dog's chin, which keeps it from loosening as quickly as the old style (and this one), where there's just a single loop of material from over the dog's nose down to the leash clip. I found this style and bought a Large because my dog is right at the boundary between neck sizes and has a large bully nose. I have never been more disappointed. First, what they neglect to show you in the pictures is that the end of the strap to adjust the neck is just HANGING LOOSE, not attached at all, so if you have a dog on the smaller end of the size, they'll have a long piece dangling down under their head. Worse than that is that even with it being a little big for her, the nose piece sits basically on the bottom edge of my dog's eyes. The old one sits about an inch down her nose, perfect for control and safe to not rub or irritate her eyes. The pieces connecting the nose and neck are way too short, keeping the nose piece too high on the dog's face. It also has no control ring to shorten and release the nose piece when the dog pulls on the leash, so I have no doubt the entire nose piece would twist around on the dog's nose instead. The new version of the head collar is still better than Gentle Leader or other brands, but please bring back the old style!!!
Works great but broke
I love this collar as it did work great. It helped to keep my dog under better control on walks. He couldn't get all worked up when passing other dogs, which helped me to train him better. However after 8 months it broke on the part that connects to the muzzle to main collar. If it would have lasted longer than 8 months I would have rated this a 5 star. But I paid over $22 for this to only last 8 months. Rather bummed over this. As it's not like he was able to chew on it. He was only wearing on on daily walks.
Comfortable nose piece
The Halti fit my 9 mo. Golden Retriever female much better than other head collars because of the wide, cushioned nose piece. The strap behind the ears is sewn at the correct angle which makes a more comfortable fit as well.
