I like this veggie dog food because it’s low protein. Making it good fit for one dog with kidney disease and the other with sensitive digestion. To this human, smell is unappealing; and I’m not surprised 2 of 2 dogs turned their nose up at it. We tend to mix the veggie food with canned tripe - that stinks in a way dogs love - and everybody is happy with a healthy snack / meal topper. We mix it with wet canned tripe because it fell within the guidelines for our dog’s “kidney diet”.

Great Option

We love this dog food. We initially purchased it as it was not grain free. Our vet advises against grain free dog food due to studies that it can affect their hearts

We love this dog food. We initially purchased it as it was not grain free. Our vet advises against grain free dog food due to studies that it can affect their hearts long term. The food caused soft stool at first but we daily use a probiotic we buy on Chewy and now their stool is good. The other major benefit turned out to be that one of our two dogs who gets brown tear stains no longer does so on the vegetarian dog food which implies to us his eyes were so bad prior with tearing due to an allergy to chicken perhaps or turkey or both as he was eating both prior. This product has clean ingredients which is important to us. This product is also made and sourced in the US which is hard to find and is ideal to us.
