Do you give this to the dog eating the poo, or the dog pooping? Or both?

Does this make all poop taste bad or just your dog’s own poop?

Answer by ChewyMar 31, 2024
This supplement takes a three-pronged approach to helping with this issue. It is loaded with glutamic acid, which makes poo taste bitter. It includes an enzyme blend to promote overall gut health from the inside-out, reducing your pup’s desire to eat poo. Finally, the overwhelming parsley scent helps to reduce your best friend’s stinky breath as he adjusts to replacing this old habit with a new, healthy one.

Are these safe for puppies?

Answer by ChewyOct 24, 2023
This supplement can be used on dogs 12 weeks or older.

Do you give these to them each time they eat or only once a day?

Answer by ChewyMar 11, 2025
These chews are intended to be consumed once per day in accordance to your pet's weight: Up to 40 lbs, 1 soft chew. 41 to 80 lbs, 2 soft chews. 81 lbs and over, 3 soft chews.

That it might help the poop eating, but it made my dog sick.

Unfortunately I gave Timmy one with his evening food, and he threw up all night. He's a very small dog, and a full size chew may have been too much. I don't know

Unfortunately I gave Timmy one with his evening food, and he threw up all night. He's a very small dog, and a full size chew may have been too much. I don't know if I want to try again with half or even a quarter of a chew, he did throw up all over my bed, so I'd rather that not happen again. He also had diarrhea for a couple days (which he didn't eat, so that's something!)

This is a tough review for me to write. The product itself seems to be no more or less effective than the previous one I tried for same reason. (Previous product no longer available.) My problem with both products - previous as well as this one - is that sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. And, to be honest, I'm not sure the product is to blame when it doesn't work or credited when it does. It's a LONG story, but suffice it to say my younger dog (female) developed a nasty habit when she was a puppy of "snacking" on my older (by 6 months) dog's poop. I finally got her to stop after a while but then when Purina changed its ProPlan recipe formulas, she started again as she was hungry. Changed both dogs' food at the point where she refused to eat at all even if I gave her the new food as well as the old. (I had to throw out the new in the bowl along with the ProPlan and then wash the bowl before giving her fresh new food!) Now recently the vet said she needs a reduction in calories/weight loss. But, if I cut back beyond a certain amount, she goes for the poop snacks again even though the older pup has consistently gotten his dose of the chews every day. When I see if this latest calorie adjustment works, I will revise the review as warranted.

My dog started eating her poop during a long cold spell (no idea if there was a relationship between the two) but I couldn't get out in the deep snow and pick up the poop. After a few weeks with no stopping, I tried this and it seemed to work within days! She likes the flavor so considers it a treat. She'll still sniff at her poop but doesn't eat it.

My dog made no fuss about taking them.

I don't think they work. She has an area where she does her business and I have to give her little tugs on leash and distract her. Usually I pick up her immediately,

I don't think they work. She has an area where she does her business and I have to give her little tugs on leash and distract her. Usually I pick up her immediately, but there snow with ice under it in her spot. And I use a walker because of my disability, so this time of year is tough.

It does seem to help though I still watch her like a Hawk.

She likes the taste of the pill.

Wait! Wait! It Works!

Had to give it about 3 weeks to be effective, as it said on the label. This morning was the ‘Hallelujah’ moment. He’s not thrilled taking the chew, but I crumble
