Good for seniors
I have 5 really old dogs and this has been the best food for them. The slightly drier, pastier consistency is actually a lot easier physically for them to eat than softer “soupier” types, and the formula is pretty gentle on their stomachs. They all eat it as well - they’re not very picky though.
Gluey and paste-like
This food is advertised as minced, but is more like a very thick paste. It's not easy to get out of the can and my old dog has a hard time eating it. He's not too interested in eating much of it, either. He liked the stew so much better.
I was disappointed that i returned 2 cases of Science Diet canned dog food and was only accredited for one case. I used one can out of the combined 2 cases and was reimbursed for only one case. I do order quite a bit of pet food for both my cats and dog.
canned dog food
I only ordered these big cans because the smaller cans were out of stock. I have a small dog so prefer the smaller cans so the food stays fresh for her. Takes longer for her to eat up all the food in a timely manner with the bigger cans. Otherwise pleased with service.
Good alternative to dry
We have seven yorkies, with four of them being over 7 years old. Our 11 year old began vomiting bile between meals. I tried feeding her more, I tried changing the kibble we were feeding, I tried a bland diet, I took her to the vet. The final thing I tried was having her eat Hills Science Diet canned food for senior dogs. That did the trick! She loves it and we have no more tummy issues! I now have all four of my seniors eating a mixture of Hills Science Diet (chicken and barley) kibble and the canned food of the same brand. Everyone loves it and I know my three youngsters are eager to get old enough for it, too! Haha!
Just plain good dog food!
My dogs were having stomach issues with another leading brand. Hills agrees with their systems and they eat it eagerly. Just wish the cans would come with a pop top!
Chicken and Barley canned dog food
My oldest dog Jock just loves this new canned food by science diet! It’s easy for him to eat! I feel like this food is much better than table scraps for him! Jock loves the taste! So I’m happy ! Will be getting more!
Dog Didn't Like It
My picky 12 year old Boxer did not like it. Nothing wrong with the food at all. Chewy was out of her normal brand food so I was forced to try something different. I donated it a friend so his dog could enjoy it.
Little 9 year old - 10 lb, we bought it for, cannot eat that large a can. It does not save well in the refrigerator. We have to scoop a portion out, add warm water to it since it’s so thick!
Not a fan of this type of food. Very pasty and dense. Hard to mix with dry food.
