My 1.5 yr golden was on the chicken and rice large bites of this brand and we switched to the lamb to see if this helped with his itchiness. He's already on apoquel and it seems to be helping and he seems to be quite happy with this size bites. S.D is expensive but everytime I try to switch his food his stomach does not do well. He's been on S.D since a puppy so I just stay with it. I wish I could switch him as I find this brand to be so expensive compared to others.
I have a picky eater. He doesn’t like the salmon dry food all that much. He doesn’t like most kibble in general. So he has negotiated a life of wet food mixed in with dry food. Smart dog. He loves it. He absolutely LOVES this wet food and has been on it for a year now. He hasn’t shown any disinterest in it. Pros: Salmon is very healthy for dogs. You can skip giving your dog fish oil if this is their diet(that saves money and effort). It’s affordable, relatively. Cons: Cans are heavy. They take up space. They use up trash space. It’s more expensive than kibble. Also, my dogs coat is really soft! I imagine this food helps maintaining that. I would recommend this wet food and the salmon dry food as well.
Agrees with my puppy's digestion and brown rice is a better fit for him, white rice not.
Purina sensitive skin and stomach salmon was recommended by my vet for my Boston terrier who had severe inflammatory bowel disease. Initially he loved the food and ate well. But unfortunately, as he got older, his IBD got worse. He stayed on this food until he passed. I had quite a bit of it left, so I decided to see if my rescue beagle wanted it. She loves it! Now I know most beagles will eat anything with gusto, but I could really see that she preferred this food over the others I had offered her. Her coat is soft and glossy. Yes, the food is gray and thinner consistency than others, but I am not the one eating it. I would rather the food be gray than have artificial colors in it. Unless there is a change in the food or in her eating habits, she will stay on this for the remainder of her life.
I wanted my dogs to try this food and they love it. Couldn’t get it out of the box fast enough.
We just started getting this food after a bad experience with his previous brand of dry food. He loves the taste, and it is easy on the digestion, even while making the changeover. He has always eaten Science Diet canned food, so we felt confident when choosing this food.
We changed to this type because of the "small bites" in adult dog food for a medium size dog. We always use Science Diet so that did not change. We like that and our dog loves it.
My vet had suggested this brand of dog food when one of our three dogs began having stomach issues. Not only did this work for all three dogs who love it, but it has reduced the smell of their poo. Better food better poo? Had no idea that could happen! But it has and we won't change. It is worth its price.
He poops less and fur is soft and shiny. Plus Chewy has the best customer service.
I have tried so many things for this picky Mini Aussie of mine and I FINALLY found a food that’s easy on her stomach and she LOVES it!! I mix a little of the wet Sensitive Stomach food in with her kibble and she devours it. Her poop is finally solid and no vomiting since starting her on this food!! I’m at ease knowing she eating and gaining her weight back!
