This a good food and my kittens like it; however, I like to mix their food with water and this one doesn’t mix very well because of the chunks. My kitties were not a fan of the food mixed with water because I think it actually tasted watered down to them. I’d you like mixing your kittens good with water, then I would stick with the pate flavors!
I normally get Hill's Liver and Chicken canned food for kittens, but I hit the wrong button and got their tender chicken dinner canned food. Since it was my mistake I went ahead and fed it to them anyway since it is still Hill's kitten food but they only lick all the gravy and leave the food morsels. They are not fans of this flavor.
We got this for our kitten since it’s what she was used to eating. It seems to be recommended by vets and is a very popular choice overall. However, the ingredient makeup and price point do not make it one of the best. It seems like the brand makes up the cost. If you are searching for something better or more affordable, there are other, better similar foods. Taste wise, our kitten is fine with this, but she doesn’t seem to be a picky eater. The pieces are a great size for her to easily consume. Buying the cans is more cost effective than the individual pouches. When we ordered the cans they were in a box with some more fragile items, and the other items were crushed. A majority of the cans also have dents in them. Thankfully nothing spilled.
Kittens are about 6 months old and refuse to eat the chunks, only eating the gravy. What a waste.
We have 2 kitties who are 5 months old. They both love this food. I'm happy to see it has higher protein content than some other canned kitten food. I also noticed their fur seems a little softer and thicker since switching to this food a few weeks ago. Another reviewer said this food caused their cat to get terrible gas. I have smelled no problems with gas or smelly poo since switching to this food, so I'm glad I ignored that review. Definitely good kitten food, and cheaper than buying the 2.7oz canned Science Diet kitten food.
My kitten loves this food!! It doesn’t matter what the flavor is, he just devours it , as if he never tasted it before.
Our vet recommended for our elderly cat who was losing weight. (Extra protein). Chewy delivered fast. Packaged perfectly. Our cat accepted the food easily and is doing well. Wish it came in the smaller cans though, because she eats smaller portions more frequently.
I had bought a pack of this hoping that giving my kitten a little variety for dinner might encourage her to eat more. She did! And then she threw up. Next time, I tried cutting back how much I fed her, thinking maybe she had just eaten too much too quickly. Once again, she got sick - after that I decided maybe this wasn't for her. She DID seem to enjoy it, though!
It's so hard to find food specifically for kittens! So I went with this due to it being science-backed and vet recommended. My kitten would eat all of it for a couple of month but then started to reject it. He would only eat half a can even though he's getting bigger and then would ravenously steal the older cats' food. Now I'm left with two large flats of this food that he refuses to eat. :(
As a foster to 8 kittens, I was disappointed to spend so much money on a food they can’t eat. This is NOT a pâté, it is chunks. They didn’t like the sauce even.
