Where it All Began

Himalayan Pet Supply is the original creator of the Himalayan Dog Chew. Their team supports a network of over 10,000 Himalayan farmers who handcraft these ancient hard cheese chews for dogs around the world. Tradition + Innovation

Combining ancient traditions with modern innovation, Himalayan Pet Supply chews start in the Himalayan mountains at over 15,000 feet, near Mount Everest. They are crafted with a winning combination of yak and cow milk and are 100% free from preservatives and binding agents. And since they are made for dogs, they are completely free from lactose, gluten, grain, soy, corn and wheat!

Himalayan Pet Supply took part in passing the first laws in Nepal, allowing farmers to insure their livestock as capital. In 2003, after discovering Kaos the dog loved Chhurpi, a traditional cheese chew made from the people of the Himalayas, two brothers and their friend had an idea to create a dog-friendly version. After 4 years of tweaking the ancient recipe, removing the lactose and fat content, they ended up with a tasty and savory, long-lasting chew, now known as a Himalayan Dog Chew. Our dogs absolutely love these bacon yak chews. I have to monitor them as they will attempt to go through almost the entire bone in one day if I’m not careful. I tend to purchase the large and extra large bones for both our 17 and 45 pound dogs. Works well for both of them. Can get a little messy when our larger dog chews non stop and builds up a bit of cheesy slobber but nothing a doggy blanket underneath her cant fix. They don’t seem to crack and fall apart which I love!

NOT for super chewers

I have 2 Basset Hounds, so bought one for each of them. One of them didn’t even touch it. Seemed she wasn’t quite sure what to do with it. Maybe because the shape

I have 2 Basset Hounds, so bought one for each of them. One of them didn’t even touch it. Seemed she wasn’t quite sure what to do with it. Maybe because the shape is a little awkward. The other one, however, LOVED it. She chewed on it for and hour and a half and managed to eat a quarter of it in that time. I thought it would last much longer. The other thing I didn’t care for is that there were little pieces of it all over my living room carpet. The one that didn’t chew on hers cleaned up the crumbs, so they are obviously tasty, but I would not buy them again due to the mess and the price and the fact that they aren’t the best for super chewers.

My dogs are not fans!

Bought this for my rescue dog who is a voracious chewer. She picked it up right away, but would not chew it. I left it down for her but all she did was pick it up

Bought this for my rescue dog who is a voracious chewer. She picked it up right away, but would not chew it. I left it down for her but all she did was pick it up and walk around with it. Tried it again the next day and got the same result. Day three was also the same. I tried giving it to my older rescue and she wanted no part of it. Very odd and I don't know why there's no attraction to it? So 2 dogs and no luck with either.
