Himalayan Pet Supply is the original creator of the Himalayan Dog Chew. About Himalayan Pet Supply

In 2003, after discovering Kaos the dog loved Chhurpi, a traditional cheese chew made from the people of the Himalayas, two brothers and their friend had an idea to create a dog-friendly version. After 4 years of tweaking the ancient recipe, removing the lactose and fat content, they ended up with a tasty and savory, long-lasting chew, now known as a Himalayan Dog Chew. Are these a "long-lasting" chew? Only in quotations because my pups are super chewers so nothing really lasts super long.

Do they have an odor?

These treats may have a smoky smell. The smokiness can vary depending on the location of what type of “smokehouse” the chew has been smoked in. Himalayan Pet Supply has many farmers and herdsmen around the world with a variety of smokehouses; some are thatched huts, some are smoked over an open fire and some smokehouses are completely enclosed in an industrial fashion. The enclosure determines the strength of smoky aroma in our chews.
Are these soft enough to break off small pieces for my little Chi, or are they chewy? She's 12 and missing a lot of back teeth (I adopted her that way), so I don't want something that it caramel like chewy. Thanks!

These treats would not be recommended for pets who may have difficulty chewing.
What is the circumference of these treats? Trying to find a safety holder for them to prevent any possible choking.

These treats are approximately 4 ½ inches in length and approximately 1 inch in diameter.

Chewing fun

Our Great Pyrenees loves these. He is allergic to chicken and grain so it is tough to find treats for him. They are just the right amount of chewiness.

FANTASTIC!

Our pugs LOVED these Peanut Butter Chews, unfortunately they had allergic reactions to these. These are the first chews that they have been interested in for years. They are elderly dogs and have some teeth issues, but managed to eat these in about 20 minutes. It's too bad they caused them to lick, itch/scratch and had skin problems just after eating them. Back to the drawing board. Gave one star for others to take caution when giving these to their dogs in case of allergies.

Well loved

My dog loves the taste of Himalayan cheese snacks, but this particular treat went really fast! I would recommend the product to light chewers, not destroyers (like my pup).

Gone too fast.

My dogs loved these but, they only lasted minutes. I was looking for something to keep their mouths busy for awhile. Lasted 5 minutes.

Dog loved it, but it is gone in a flash

I was actually looking for a yak milk treat that lasted a long while, this one while the dog loved it, lasted less than ten minutes. A rather expensive milk bone, I won't reorder.

Top treat for a teething puppy

To say that my dog likes these sticks is a massive understatement, he loves them. I wish they lasted a little longer, but they keep my landshark of a puppy busy for several hours. Looks like I’ll be buying quite a few of these to get us through the teething phase…

Awesome Product

My rescue pup has digestive problems and can't eat anything made of, or flavored with, chicken or beef. I tried the peanut butter dog treats and he can't get enough. In fact, he's so smart, he recognizes the package and does a little dance when he sees the treats come out. I am very grateful to have found these amazing treats.

Made my dogs sick

I've purchased this brand before without issue, but these made my dogs sick (vomited), and now they won't eat them.
