Sounds Like a Good Idea - But NOT

It seems like these would be a healthy treat for heavy chewers. They were absolutely a horrible idea for my Pyrenees and Husky. They both were sick for three days upon having one of these chews. What happened was they chewed the treats into pieces about the size of pennies and swallowed them. This product does not dissolve in the stomach! So, the dog has to pass the shards. This will result in diarrhea and much distress. We thought we were going to have to take them to the emergency vet a couple of times. I strongly caution against giving these to your dogs.

Love them

My 2 very aggressive chewers loved these and lasted almost 30 minutes, that’s really pretty good with them. I have a 115# Dobie and a 65# boxer/pit mix that both can usually take out any treat in a few minutes.

AWESOME Chews

Have 2 elderly pugs. They were not as interested in this flavor of chew but did eventually eat them. I gave the peanut butter ones to them first, but they had an allergic reaction. So, I decided to try these cheese flavored ones thinking they wouldn't be allergic since I give them cheese at home. Sadly, I was wrong and they had the same issues as the peanut butter flavored ones. They licked their paws and itched their faces and ears and their skin started to get red and rashes. I was so hoping these would be okay since the flavor was different. Sadly, my 2 old pugs just couldn't adjust to them. I should have known since they are so allergic to most foods and chews. I would still recommend them, but be cautious for the first time. Let them chew some, but not all to see how they do first. Back to the search....

caused complete intestinal blockage

I cannot caution against this chew enough. My dogs love the traditional Himalayan chews and my 13 year old hound has been having teeth issues so I thought I would try a softer consistency with this one. Terrible idea. Shortly after giving this to her, she stopped eating and refused to drink. Throughout the night it got worse and soon she was drooling and panting in pain. I rushed her to the emergency vet and they found that this chew had caused a full intestinal blockage and had to be urgently removed. Over 5k later and an incision that spans the entire length of her belly, she’s doing much better. But never again will I give this to her. The rounded shape and size is just asking for aspiration or blockage. Terrible design…she hasn’t had any issues before or after with any other chew or food. They really need to discontinue this chew or only recommend it for very small dogs who could never choke on it

My dog loved these. She did finish them quicker than I thought.

Didn't like them

My dog didn't really like these. They seemed like they were too hard, so he couldn't really chew them very well. Then he didn't really eat the pieces when he could pull them off, so it just made a mess. I wouldn't buy these again.

They loved it but...

Both of my dogs loved these but one ate it in 1 day and the other ate it in 2 days. I will be trying the higher density for my chewers.
