Where it All Began

Himalayan Pet Supply is the original creator of the Himalayan Dog Chew. Their team supports a network of over 10,000 Himalayan farmers who handcraft these ancient hard cheese chews for dogs around the world. Tradition + Innovation

Combining ancient traditions with modern innovation, Himalayan Pet Supply chews start in the Himalayan mountains at over 15,000 feet, near Mount Everest. They are crafted with a winning combination of yak and cow milk and are 100% free from preservatives and binding agents. And since they are made for dogs, they are completely free from lactose, gluten, grain, soy, corn and wheat!

Himalayan Pet Supply took part in passing the first laws in Nepal, allowing farmers to insure their livestock as capital. Doing Good One Chew at a Time

In 2003, after discovering Kaos the dog loved Chhurpi, a traditional cheese chew made from the people of the Himalayas, two brothers and their friend had an idea to create a dog-friendly version. After 4 years of tweaking the ancient recipe, removing the lactose and fat content, they ended up with a tasty and savory, long-lasting chew, now known as a Himalayan Dog Chew. How are these different from the churros?

The Himalayan Dog Chew Yaky Yum Himalayan Cheese Dog Treats and the Himalayan Dog Chew Yaky Churro Himalayan Cheese Dog Treats are the same and contain the same ingredients. The unique shape of yakyCHURRO gets to those hard to reach places between teeth while the Yaky Yum Himalayan Cheese Dog Treats are smoother.

Can you puff the whole thing

These treats are softer and intended to be eaten all the way, so they might not puff as well as the original Himalayan Dog Chew.

Is this a good chew to help clean teeth in between teeth brushings?

Mostly good chewies

I was torn between giving these a three or four star review. They are actually good chewies and my dog likes them. They last a while and I like that you can put

I was torn between giving these a three or four star review. They are actually good chewies and my dog likes them. They last a while and I like that you can put the tiny pieces in the microwave and make it puff up. My biggest issue with these is that when my dog gets to the end and eats the little chunks left, I quite often find dog vomit with tiny pieces of this in it.

Don’t last long

My Cavalier King Charles Spaniels loved these. The flavor and texture must be appealing. However they only lasted about 10 minutes and my crew had them chewed down

Another special "Sunday" treat in our house for our CavaPoo. He loves his cheese sticks. Often hides them for a few hours before chomping down, but he devours them soon enough. These were recommended by his breeder to help keep his teeth cleaner. Between these and the yak cheese treats and lamb horns, his teeth are still mostly white at nearly 5 years old!

Round Softer Himalayan Cheese Treats

I didn't notice that these were not as hard as the ones I typically get but my dogs still enjoyed them. They are round and smooth and about the size of your palm

I didn't notice that these were not as hard as the ones I typically get but my dogs still enjoyed them. They are round and smooth and about the size of your palm. My two Boston Terriers ate these relatively quickly. While they enjoyed them, given they are big chewers I will more than likely go back to the hard ones just to keep them more occupied with it.
