This product is easy to use and easy to store. I used it as a food topper, which I'd recommend. As a total food, I might only use it when a dog isn't able to eat

This product is easy to use and easy to store. I used it as a food topper, which I'd recommend. As a total food, I might only use it when a dog isn't able to eat a solid food. An example would be a young dog or an older aging dog having issues with teeth or mouth. Chewing solids is important for their teeth and is a natural healthy behavior. The food was tasty to two of my three dogs. The boys are less discriminating while Harriet is a fussy eater. She liked it when it was a novelty, but after several weeks she began to avoid it. The quality seemed very good, and I am glad we have it. I will definitely continue to use it as an intermittent topper treat for them.

I wasn’t sure what to expect from dehydrated senior dog food — halfway assumed I’d be adding water to something that looked like potting soil — but this stuff actually surprised me. Once you mix it, it turns into a sort of hearty chicken-salmon stew that smells… well, let’s just say Ruger came trotting in from across the house before I even finished stirring. The ingredient list is clean, the texture is easy for an older dog to handle, and somehow it doesn’t give off the usual “dog food funk.” Ruger’s been eating it with zero hesitation, and he seems comfortable afterward — no stomach drama, no mysterious gurgles at 2 a.m., and his poop has been, dare I say, conveniently scoopable. (I know, glamorous.) I like that it feels like real food without me having to actually cook for the dog. And for a senior guy who’s earned the right to be a little picky, he seems genuinely happy with it. So far, it’s been a solid upgrade for him. Would I buy it again? Absolutely — if Ruger could talk, he’d probably send me reminders himself.

This product seemed to be great, in concept. The texture is great and so is the smell of the food. Unfortunately my girls did not like the food alone. I have to mix in the food I make so they can eat it. The product absorbs the water well and quickly. You have to make sure you add the correct amount of water so it is properly hydrated. If your dog is not picky, this would be a great option, specially if you want to vary the food they eat. This product does have good source of vitamins for senior dogs which is a huge plus.

The Honest Kitchen Wholemade Whole Grain Chicken, Oat & Salmon Dehydrated Senior Dog Food, and my dogs absolutely loved it from day one. Their stools became a little firmer in a good way, so I’m very happy with how well their stomachs handled the change. What surprised me the most is how excited they get just from smelling the food. My pup gets SO happy that I actually have to put his bowl on the floor because he goes crazy and would break the stand! That’s how much he enjoys it. Overall, this food has been great for digestion, taste, and excitement. Highly recommend!

My fairly fussy dog loves this. She is 150 lbs - eats 3.5 cups kibble twice a day. I replace 1/2 cup of kibble with 1-2 cup of dehydrated. Mix with a lot of water

My fairly fussy dog loves this. She is 150 lbs - eats 3.5 cups kibble twice a day. I replace 1/2 cup of kibble with 1-2 cup of dehydrated. Mix with a lot of water 1C to make a sauce then mix 3 C of dry kibble. Quality ingredients. My dog is not quite a senior but I chose this version because of it”s higher vitamin E and lower calcium, phos content.

My dog loved the taste of this food. I wasn't sure how to incorporate it in his diet so I moistened it then added it to his regular food. I also tried adding it dry. It looks like instant oatmeal so I wasn't sure he would eat it dry due to the texture but he did not hesitate. I will consider adding this to his diet.
