Thank you Chewy for such fast, free and accurate shipping!! This means a lot in today's online retail and shipping environment. I am experiencing a huge slowdown in shipping with other online retailers who charge for free 2 day shipping - which is now taking at least 6 days to arrive to our home! While I have used Chewy a lot for our puppy, I'm now switching to Chewy for ALL our pet needs!!!
Although it’s made with fish, it doesn’t smell nasty at all—yay! The best part: it has ADDED TAURINE! This can protect dogs from DMC (heart disease) that might be correlated with diets high in legumes like this one. Very convenient to make a hydrating meal for dogs.
My vet seems to think my dogs have food allergies. It is usually to the proteins so he wants them on a novel protein diet. I don't like many of the choices for that available but tried this Limited Ingredient Fish diet and it is seeming to do the trick. Many of their symptoms have subsided. They both love the food. I like that is human grade quality. Also, The Honest Kitchen has veterinarian nutritionists that help formulate the diets. A definite plus.
Both my three-year old and one-year old rescues love this food AND I feel good about feeding it because of the high-quality ingredients. Easy to mix. US company. Pricey but worth it to help keep my dogs healthy. One dog is a 70lb Pittie/Chow/Aussie/GSD mix and the other a 40lb Golden/Setter/Pittie/Lab/Bulldog mix (yes, you read that correctly, LOL).
First let me state that i got better consistency making each meal rather than a day. When i followed the directions for day , after waiting 5 min, it was still soupy. That being said, this is my 2nd attempt and my baby still wont touch it. He tried a trial lick and then just ends up walking away. Hes been extremely picky lately and this just doesn't do it for him
Although I'd prefer the fish recipe with cranberries which has not been availabe when I've needed to order, this one is a great substitute.
I have a small Frenchie mix puppy 6 mo old. She loves this soft fish food, she will race to my kitchen every time she hears me opening up her meal. I wouldn't change her food but I will rotate different flavor next time. However I will add this brand hard food as a treat or mix in her meal so it will clean her teeth. Got her full blood work yesterday and the vet said it is unremarkable normal! And no longer itchy!!
I am never disappointed with The Honest Kitchen. The best food for a variety of reasons.
Archie is our new puppy. When we first brought him home, the poor guy had Giardia. After two treatments, it was cleared up but he was still having soft poops. I finally figured out it was his puppy food. I've since switched him to a different brand of limited ingredient hard kibble and add this as a topper. He usually gobbles it up and it has been a great filling to use in his Kongs. Percy is our 6 year old Shiba Inu. He has always had skin issues and use to love The Honest Kitchen's fish flavored Pure and Tasty Meal Topper. Sadly, they don't sell it anymore on Chewy but this is essentially that with more steps. He loves it too! We buy a lot of Honest Kitchen products and have yet to be disappointed.
One of my GSD's is a very picky eater, has food allergies, and started to refuse any kibble at breakfast. He would have acid pukes from not eating so I had to try something. He immediately took to THK LID Fish. I only give him about 1/2 cup dry and re-hydrate it with warm water and it's just enough "porridge" to start his day off right. He's not once refused it.
